Smelly Room

Only hotel to go to for Winterset. Breakfast was in a converted room. Eggs were chemical egg whites and the condiments were Walmart rejects. A banana was the best thing. Room was musty and you could not open window. We left the door open to the hall and ran the shower to get the smell out. How this place rated high is a mystery. To all of you out there, ask to see the room first before you pay. We are going to do this from now on.

Not sure why the changes?

Price on Hotels.com was $239 for 2 rooms but even though I paid for Both she rang them up separately which came $244. I understand it’s only $5 difference but kind of defeats the purpose of using your site cause the extra $5 just defeated my dollars of credit For booking with you. Hotel also was definitely not worth the price we paid since it was not even half full so not like a shortage of rooms. I will book with you again next time and see if things go better but my husband also booked through you guys a couple weeks ago in Sioux City Iowa for 4 nights but when we got there they had no rooms for us. We have used your site for years but wondering what is happening all of a sudden.

Everything great.

The only inconvenient -very very little one- was they were updating the rooms. Advantage? The stuff that they were renewing was CLEANER than the one that is in use in a lot of more expensive ones. Staff very kind, nice breakfast, close to everyhing, not noise at all.

Be clear about your policy!

I booked this hotel specifically because they said they were pet friendly. After driving 8 hours with my two cats and attempting to check in, they said they only accept dogs, not cats. I thought this was extremely misleading. They should have specifically said they accepted only dogs, not pets. I was unable to check in and I was very upset after a long drive.

Hotel review

I had an issue with the shower. It work different than any shower I have seen. Also the breakfast I thought could have been better. The eggs where just egg whites, there was only 1/4 of the pans filled. Like 5 pcs of sausage, 1/4 container of egg whites and 1/4 a pan of sausage gravy. It all looked like it was there for a while. The food was not empty due to being ate it that's all that was put out.

Clean and super friendly staff. When the front desk informed me of the breakfast hours at check in I said I would be leaving very early before breakfast. He said if I got hungry in the night to let him know and he would open the breakfast room so I could have a snack. I thought that was very kind.

Clean hotel and a nice location.

This was a nice hotel to stay at when we visited Winterset. The hotel was extremely clean. Spotless. Breakfast was nice and no problems during our stay. We were able to easily drive to see all of the Covered Bridges in the area from this hotel.

We found the Covered Bridge Inn to be perfect for our needs. The Owner was very accommodating. My husband is unable to carry/lift things so the Owner came out and helped me bring in our luggage. He was very pleasant, recommended places to eat and things to see. Great stay, would recommend.
