The room smelt like mildew, there is water damage to the celling and looks like it was pealing off and was hanging down. the property is not well maintained, the security bar on the door was broken. I don't recommend staying here if you want to feel safe. the only place on the property that looked like it was in shape was the lobby, breakfast was very limited. waffle maker and a lot of breaded options and some fruit

Hice reservación con Hotel.com por una habitación con cama cuando llegue al hotel me dieron una habitación con dos camas tamaño full además la habitación olía a pura humedad soy alérgica, el lugar Grisino los pasillos todos sucios, fui al front desk a pedir me cambiarán de habitación y la persona que me atendió diferente a la que inicialmente me había atendido y asignado una habitación con diferente especificaciones con la que reserve y quien no siquiera me explicó que no había esa habitación disponible, me dijo que como yo había reservado no habían más y que al cambiarme de habitación iba ser igual y que mejor buscará otro hotel a las 11.00pm y que me regresarían dinero que cancele en el hotel, pero lo que pague en hotel.com debía comunicarme con ellos para que me hicieran el reembolso y se comunicaran para verificación con la dra Emily Mckale que es la manager de operaciones, ese hotel no se lo recomiendo a nadie aparte de sucio, luce inseguro. The room was horrible. The carpet was wet near the bathroom as soon as we walked it and we stepped in it with our socks! The air conditioner looked as if it had leaked because the carpet had stains.

White substance and stains from ac. Table in the middle of floor and metal plate in the back corner where it looked as if a lamp was missing.

Floor literally wet when we checked in - we didn’t check in until 7:30 pm too but carpet was soaked

Tv on top of cabinet with lamp and cords from one cabinet to another. Good thing we didn’t have young children.

The fees charged were more than quoted on hotels.com. Room is very dated and floors were dirty. No heat when it was cold, only air conditioning. 1 friendly staff member but the first one I spoke to was not friendly. Would not stay here again because “resort fees” miscalculated and different. Also not really “resort “ For the price not worth it. Would look at other properties that have better amenities and cleaner

As we arrived, the staff acted like there was no room left for reservations we booked a month in advance. We had to pay a resort fee which later looked like the LAST RESORT fee. Racoons, cats roaming around in the trash. Walkways, concrete pavers were not properly cleaned/softwashed. Room had to be Lysoled and we spent 2 hours cleaning filters from the smelly/moldy air conditioner. The entire room had to be disinfected. We had child size towels that required to be exchanged at the welcome center for fresh towels. The toilet was not secured in place and was moving as you sit down to take care of your business. BOTH Swimming pools were not working, were not heated, and broken patio furniture was everywhere. Hot tub/kiddie pool was caution taped off. Breakfast was not continental (American): bread, waffles, juice, coffee, jellies - no eggs, sausages, hash browns, and fruit, etc. Trash everywhere you look - in the sand, around pool, around premises, rooms looked like they are getting updated, but still booking. I can only add that the staff was the most helpful and joyful from the whole experience. Definitely CHEAP, DIRTY, OUTDATED - NOT ADVISED TO STAY! We booked it for 4 days left after day 2. Could not stay there another day! Had to cut our trip short!

No había luz en la habitación, solo 2 lamparitas de mesa. El baño no bajaba a veces. Paredes con boquetes enormes y sucias. El techo tenía moho y olía a humedad. Puertas rotas, un desastre total. Muy poco cuidado.

The address on Hotels.com for this resort is wrong. The address that was shown and on my reservation sent me to a Quality Inn approximately 20 miles away. Their people took their time to help me find Maingate Resort and gave me correct address.

Would not ever book again

The hotel could not accommodate me for the room I originally booked. So instead of a king I had two queens. He offered to take off one night of the resort fee and waive the deposit. Great. However, when I got to room it was a total mess. The floors were damp. Everything was mildewy smelling. I did not feel comfortable even walking around without socks and shoes. The only reason I even stayed was because I had a convention and knew I would barely be in the room except to sleep. However, the last night I braved with bare feet and woke up in the morning with orange brown spots all over the bottom of my feet. There was only two dim lamps to light the room. The bathroom light didn’t work. None of the amenities were even really running so I’m not sure how they can even call it a “resort” and given the state of the room how they could even charge a deposit because it was already in disarray. Sorry for the feet pics I took the pic after trying to soak them and hope the spots cleared off.

worse hotel EVER

To the Management Team of Main Gate Lakeside Resort My reservation was made for a party of three, including myself, my husband, and my two-year-old daughter. Details of Service Failure and Safety Violations: Upon accessing the assigned room at approximately [4pm], we were forced to immediately vacate the premises—checking out less than five minutes later—as the room was fundamentally uninhabitable, unsanitary, and presented severe health and safety risks. The unacceptable conditions observed included: 1 Severe Health Hazard (Mold and Water Damage): Extensive visible mold growth and heavily saturated, wet floors throughout the unit. 2 Unsanitary Conditions: Visible contamination, including large amounts of hair left in the shower, and pervasive bug activity. 3 Chemical Fumes: An overwhelming, noxious odor of concentrated bleach that was immediately irritating to the throat and eyes of our family, particularly our toddler. 4 Structural Integrity/Maintenance Failure: Large sections of icicles hanging from the ceiling, indicating a profound structural failure, extreme water damage, or a dangerous lack of insulation/HVAC control. 5 Life Safety Violation: The smoke detector was ripped out of the wall, rendering the room completely non-compliant with standard safety and fire codes. These conditions made the room unsuitable for any guest and actively dangerous for a child. We did not use any of the amenities and left the property immediately.
