I was one of thousands of passengers affected by weather delays and cancellations at ATL airport. There were no flights out, no cars to rent, and no rooms available. I booked a room online at 2am after 20hrs of traveling. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I got to the hotel and was told 1) my reservation was actually for check in at 4pm (13hrs later 😭) and that they were sold completely sold out for the current night.
I was so tired and defeated, I was willing to sleep on the lobby floor. Every member of their team offered me kindness in a time of extreme stress and need. They went out of their way to help me get into an unexpectedly opened room and were gracious enough to apply my reservation for the following night to the current night. I’m so grateful for the humanity, the hot clean shower, the incredibly soft pillows, and comfortable bed. I woke up a few hours later with a better grasp on my sanity and feeling more capable of braving the rest of my journey home. The world needs more people like this team.
