I was skeptical at first, but the reviews were correct, this place is a little gem! The breakfast was fantastic (not a 5 start continental), but it was good. The rooms were clean and the price was right. I overheard the cleaning crew discussing the cleaning strategies and made sure everything was clean, even the mirrors! The staff was great, you can tell they like to work there. I would book again.

To start, this trip was so my daughter and I could visit the college she will be attending in the fall after driving 11 hours. I arrive to a parking lot that has more empty spaces then full, the check in process was smooth the staff were fine. I get checked in and wait for what may be the longest elevator ever and as you’re waiting it makes the most god awe full sound. I finally get to my room only to find out I have one bed now I go back down stairs and will I’m waiting I hear some of the staff talk about a flooding now I get to the counter and explain the problem I then get told they have no double bed rooms because they were double booked. I then get told they can give me a cot, I explain that’s fine however I’m not paying the full price this is not what was agreed upon. The person at the counter was helpful and I explained that this is problem for the manager to solve. I was told she was on the phone and I patiently waited when Mary the worst manager that has no business being one. Comes out and I explain the situation to her response theirs nothing we can do, we don’t give discounts. I was told to pretty much deal with or get my money back and go find another hotel and when I asked for a corporate number I was told to google it. Don’t recommend the comfort inn at auburn Massachusetts

The room was clean but had a musty smell to it, the mini fridge was in poor condition, and I had trouble sleeping because the walls are so thin I could hear the conversation, music, and tv in the room next door as if I was in the same room. I was charged an extra $2.28 after check-in for safe and keys but wasn't notified of the charge. When I asked for a copy of where it identified the additional charge, they weren't able to provide it and wouldn't reverse it. Staff was slow at check-in and rude when I asked for the $2.28 to be reversed.

Positives: The staff were friendly and confirmed a request I had made when we checked in. The breakfast area was kept well-stocked. The beds were comfortable. Negatives: I don't think the bathroom had been cleaned--there were hairs in the tub and the shower drain had a visible hair clog. There were crumbs on the vanity sink area. Furniture was adequate, but scratched or dented, could use an update. The mini-fridge in the room was loud.

The room was comfortable and clean although the light fixtures and fan in the bathroom to use some repair. The staff was wonderfully friendly and breakfast was tasty with good variety. A great stay while we visited colleges in the area.
