Felt sorry for the breakfast kitchen staff

Hotel was nice. Fridge in room didn’t work. The lady making breakfast was very overwhelmed with sports teams needing to eat at once. The cooking situation was not meant for very many people at a time. Nice hotel though.

Room clean, but not stocked well at all. 2 flimsy cups to drink out of and use to brush our teeth. 2 toilet paper holders, one with the tiniest bit of paper left, only because it was glued to the cardboard roll, the other holder had enough paper for our one night stay. Why wouldn’t they replace the other roll and replenish cups when cleaning the room for new guests? Hallway in front of our room littered with paper. Looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Had 2 vouchers for breakfast, but no one was at the counter to take our order. Had to get someone to retrieve her after standing there for what felt like 10 minutes. We smiled, said good morning, but she was obviously not happy when she came out from the back. Only offered scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. Can’t eat eggs, was hoping for bacon since that was what we were told at the front desk, and wasn’t going to eat just potatoes for breakfast. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this hotel got such a high rating. It’s a one and done for us.

Great stay!

We enjoyed Shutters and stayed one night. The hotel itself was awesome! Very clean and very comfortable bed. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was basically a suite. Full kitchen, separate living room and bedroom. Honestly, the only negative was the breakfast offered. It wasn't much. Scrambled eggs that were a bit rubbery, 2 pieces of bacon and some bread choices. There were also a couple choices of cereal. For as nice as the hotel was, we expected the breakfast to be a little nicer.

5 Star Stay!

Really great stay. Looks and feels brand new. Feels very beachy with the decor and brightness. Bed was extremely comfortable and the linens felt very luxe. Pillows and bedding were also great and very plush. Very, very quiet stay. Couldn't hear anything from outside our room or building. Breakfast was great, too and we were glad it was until 10am on the weekends. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Elko.

Nice Hotel in Elko

Decent hotel in Elko Nevada. Lots of amenities including a pool and spa, breakfast and a fitness facility. Some of the interior features in the room are not great and feel a bit institutional. The bed was comfortable and the area is quiet. Bathroom was okay, towels need to be replaced. Overall a pretty nice place.

Good stay

The Shutters Hotel was really striking when we walked in. The lobby was very welcoming and the staff were very nice and efficient. The room, the restaurant (Burger House) were all nice. The only thing that didn't fit our expectations was the breakfast. I guess it was suppose to be nice because they were making scrabbled eggs, bacon and hash browns. I was expecting choices and the regular breakfast I have seen at most hotels.

Our favorite place to stay

We love this hotel and try to stay here every time we are heading home from visiting family. The staff is always friendly, rooms are comfortable and clean and the pool is fantastic with great hours. Breakfast options are also nice.

Nice Place

The hotel seems to be made of newly constructed common areas (front desk, lounge, bar and restaurant space) built onto and existing hotel. The common areas are beautiful. The rooms are nice, but not AS nice as the reception and food/beverage facilities. A hot breakfast was included, but it could use and upgrade before it’s as nice as the facility it’s served in.
