Room was older but clean! Great location for the Big Sur Race as bus pick up was just a walk out our door and expo walking distance. Great food all around the hotel and they had a great coffee bar in the mornings and Water containers outside of rooms which was great ! Windows opened up and we had a fan.. never got too hot! Will stay again for sure !

Hotel is okay, not great but adequate. Hotel has not A/C so it's necessary to have windows open for air and street noise can be loud. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Room looked better in photos online than in real life but price was good, location was good, staff was friendly. The Monterey Hotel is excellent value for money, in a great location five minutes from Old Fisherman's Wharf. The decor could do with a bit of TLC, but it was clean and comfortable and well equipped.
