The staff is very friendly and helpful. Mostly. I felt like my questions about dairy in the breakfast foods was dismissed out of hand, but otherwise the people were great! The hotel itself is tired. Our room had a rusted sprinkler head, the fan in the bathroom didn't work, the sink didn't drain well and had a loose handle, the bathroom door handle was loose, the blackout curtains were full of holes, the mattress wasn't level and was very lumpy and the ceiling showed signs of water damage. And then there was someone else's gum on the nightstand. Gross.

LaQuinta

LaQuinta is in a very strategic location by the Assembly district with shops and restaurants easy to walk to. The front desk staff is great to work with especially “Eddie”. Very helpful throughout our trip. This hotel needs a renovation and update to modernize it. Vending machines don’t all work correctly or ice machines. The carpets are filthy. I wore my socks at all times and at the end of the day they were black on the bottom. If you can’t renovate then at least shampoo the carpets! But overall it met our family needs for this trip.

The hotel is located conveniently close to the airport and the free shuttle is a bonus. It is surrounded by shops and easy access to public transport. The price was reasonable. Rooms are basic but clean Cons: The property is quite old. Rooms are quite aged. Breakfast was quite poor with no variations. I stayed 3 nights. They were unable to provide yogurt on 2 out of 3 days. Out of bagela on last day. Gym had 4 out of 6 machines not working.

Just Pay for Parking & Avoid This Hotel

The positives of this hotel unfortunately don't outweigh the negatives. We stayed at this hotel for three nights because we had a car and parking was free, unlike many of the hotels in Boston proper. It was also close to a large shopping area and a subway station, so moving from Somerville into Boston and the surrounding area was easy. the customer service was good; Krissi, who assisted us during the day, was actually excellent and she was incredibly helpful. I can't say the same for the other individuals we interacted with. The negatives are plentiful. The carpet is utterly disgusting. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years and even in our room we felt grossed out walking in bare feet. The shower was incredibly small. I'm about average height and weight for a woman and the shower was even too small for me to move around in comfortably. The water pressure was almost non-existent. Everything simply felt (and looked) dirty and made us want to stay sitting on our beds so we didn't have to touch the floor. The bathroom was set up oddly; you had to maneuver around the toilet to close the door and to get to the shower. House keeping only came if you requested them the night before, so our trash was practically overflowing until we found a trash can near the ice machine to throw things in. The breakfast area is small and the food is typical of a hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel even with its free parking. Go down the street and book a nicer place in the same area.
