Second stay here in 3 months. The service and food (3 restaurants I think) are superb. The pool was fun for the kids and has one of the restaurants with the super. Food. It’s an old luxury hotel (with the telephone by the toilet that nobody uses anymore!) and as such, I think the bowels are a little old and needing of updating. The last stay, our tub drain would not hold water. This stay, the tub would not drain without propping it open with the non slip material that peeled off the bottom of the tub. And for both stays there was no relation of the set temperature on the thermostat to the actual room temperature. This time it was 17C when set to 32C! Luckily the beds had wonderful comforters that kept us warm and well rested. We did get an Expedia price so maybe we just got the worst room in the house!! Anyway, we would stay here again for the wonderful food and service

By far the best hotel we’ve stayed at in the city of Guatemala. We’ve stayed in 4 different ones nearby and this has exceeded our expectation. The other hotels are nice but the bed was always hard and that’s a big deal breaker. We’d leave hurting from our backs and hips after staying in those hotels. This hotel is beautiful, clean and great service. We had their buffet breakfast which was superb.

Room was not ready until almost 4PM (checkin 3PM). We were able to swim at the pool and eat at the poolside restaurant/bar, so not all that bad. However, 3PM is late enough for a checkin without it being delayed to later. The hotel is a nice luxury hotel with several dining options and impeccable service. Our bath tub continually drained during my kids’ bath, making their baths not so enjoyable. The pool/hot tub are nice. There is a “market” off the lobby for breakfast and other quick food. We only stayed overnight en route to elsewhere, but it served our purposes and we are staying another night on the way back. Hopefully the next room has a better tub.
