Family-oriented hotel in a quiet area
We traveled from Zurich HB to the hotel by tram on the 1st 2 days. It took us at least 8-10 mins by Tram 4 from Zurich, Sihlquai/HB stop to Technopark stop; while it took about half an hour on foot from the hotel to Zurich HB. 2 supermarkets are located in the opposite building named Puls 5.
The hotel is family-oriented, so if you don't have kids and are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is not the best choice ~ soundproofing is so bad. Every time when people next doors slammed the doors & windows, we could hear the noise so clearly and feel the wall shaking. We could also hear kids (next doors / upstairs) screaming and jumping. One more thing, since we arrived early and couldn't check in yet, we left our luggage at the hotel. However, the staff didn't store our luggage in a luggage room instead they just left everybody's luggage at the lobby ~ we think this is quite unsafe & not professional. Other than these, the room is actually very spacious; and the hotel's facilities are okay.

Staff at Reception / Check in are not friendly at all ! Only a young lady (forgot her name) is professional and provided good service. Other than this lady , other staff at Reception provide poor service to the customers. We arrived the hotel at 11:45 and asked a mature lady staff whether we can have room now. She said "Unfortunately your room is not available yet and check in time is 2:00pm. Then for some reason, we waited at lobby. Then I found another young tall lady who appeared more friendly. So I tried again. The young lady said no problem, please give her 15 mins for preparation. Oh my ! How come two different answers ! During our stay for 3 days, we also asked the staff (a guy and that mature lady again) some questions. They just answered I don't know......
Poor hotel !

Good view to farmhouses
Very good view to traditional farmhouses in swiss. Staff are veey nice and helpful. A little bit far from the train station and city centre.
Nice hotel but the price-quality ratio is not very good.

Worst of the Novotel we have stayed

We had a horrible experience at Novotel. Firstly we had prepaid two rooms for 2 nights. We were stuck in Zermatt due to storm and messaged asking them to cancel one day and requested if they can refund. They didn't respond. Next day we messaged letting them know that we are on the way and we will be checkinf in for the night, again no response. When we finally made it late at 9 PM for 2nd night. They said our booking doesn't exist and after showing the receipt amd proof of my emails they said they gave our rooms due to no-show. The receptionist was very rude. When I asked at the bar if I could order take out for kids; the staff was rude and and said no instead of helping me. Eventually after arguments the rooms thry gave us were a downgrade from what we had booked. They basically charged us for two nights and gave us a downgraded room for one night. I have traveled and stayed in Novotel in Paris, Brussels, Costa Rica but never had such a bad experience.
