Reef Vacation 7-11-25

It was awesome trip to Cancun specifically Playa del Carmen .Hotel was good not great Shower was cold mostvof the times and somebstuff had normal wear and tear. The Jungle view was Awesome Trees everywhere all types and some marsipuals walking the gardens The Buffet was Great at Chula Vista Breakfast we had many choices from eggs to mexican dishes and chilaquiles and were Delicious with the Salsas on top Tables Poolside make you feel rrally on Vacation. Swimming pools were nice and access to beach was delightful The club upstairs on Fridays was Totally kool with color coded headphones coordinated to the 3 DJs that are playing The Virtual Club is different but awesome experience and the bar tender was quick im making the drinks which help keep the flow moving .The Late Night Snack Bar hit the spot at 1:00 am tacos of fajitas de carne were recommended Alexis the gentleman was a pleasure to talk too and a Good Worker.... Liked thr place and will be returning in the future Thanks Reef Staff

Disappointed

Our stay was ok. Disappointed by the size of the pools - photos taken with a wide angle lens! There were plenty of opportunity to get a drink and food by the pool but it would have been nicer if they came around serving drinks The quality of the food in the buffet was poor, quite tasteless and at the most warm, not hot. The Mexican restaurant was very nice food but the Italian was terrible for food, atmosphere and service. The rooms were clean but basic. Beds were comfy and shower was excellent but it is a basic to provide a kettle and water in rooms. I did know that there would be no kettle but it was not worth having a premium room to have a kettle. There were a few cans of fizzy drink in the room when we arrived but it was not replenished. There was one accessible plug in the room, the rest were in the bathroom- so had to charge phones in the bathroom. The setting of the hotel was small but nice Overall we were disappointed.

May vacation

When you arrive and check in they expect you to listen to a representative about setting up a tour. They are very persistent even if you tell them that you are tired from the trip. Most of the staff are polite and friendly. The rooms and outside have a sewer smell.

Sombra en la alberca! Me encantó

Llegamos a este hotel por casualidad, ya que en el que teníamos reservado originalmente no había cupo al día siguiente… ¡y qué suerte la nuestra! Encontramos esta joya escondida entre la selva y con dos pequeños cenotes relajantes (no te puedes meter). Es un hotel pequeño comparado con otros resorts, pero con un encanto increíble. Naturaleza por todos lados, caminos sombreados y lo mejor: ¡sombra en la alberca! (cosa que pocos hoteles tienen y que agradezco enormemente porque no me gusta estar tanto al sol). Las habitaciones están bien, los edificios son de máximo tres pisos y fáciles de subir. El spa es una maravilla: hermoso, relajante y con temazcal. El buffet tiene buena variedad, y hay dos albercas de tamaño medio. La playa está súper bonita, con poco sargazo y frente a la isla de Cozumel. Un detalle que me encantó: en vez de dar botellas de agua, tienen estaciones para rellenar termos o tomar en bebederos. Tip: lleva tu termo si visitas este hotel. El show de Michael Jackson estuvo excelente y las bebidas muy ricas. Nos vamos muy felices de haber encontrado este lugar tan especial. ¡Definitivamente regresaremos pronto!

Here are the likes:loved the beach , spacious, soft white sand, blue water very little sargass grass, pretty much none until the last day when it was windy , lounge chairs options were through out the property, we saved seats before we ate breakfast and never had an issue, seemed to be enough for everyone, always felt like it wasn’t crowded, maybe it was the jungle /trees through out ? No lines for meals , activities were great, mostly Elena the activity director!! She was so spunky, great Zumba in the pool, she made mine and my daughters

Upon arrival the front desk manager was arguing with a guest. Not very professional. He was telling her regardless of what she said, he was changing her for a damaged mirror. That’s scary. Upon Checking in we were warned losing the towel card for the pool would result in a $35 charge per key. Scary. We paid for the VIP upgrade. Not worth the cost. They ran out of top shelf alcohol by1pm. Cabanas filled up quickly. Buffet food was terrible. Property was nice. Needs better management.

This beachfront resort is in an excellent area, Playacar, which is gated and feels very safe. Walking, riding bikes or getting a taxi is easy. Outside of Playacar there are shops, historical sites, and museums. Wonderful restaurants locally, as well. But, there is also no reason to leave the Reef as there are restaurants on site, too. Boticelli and Terrazzo grill were our favorites. The Ome Spa was fabulous; we enjoyed our massages. We utilized the dive shop. The staff is helpful and friendly; we had a few delays that were not staff's fault. Also, the captain of the boat dropped us off quite a way from shore in our BCDs making us navigate waves and wind back to shore. Again, not staff's fault who were apologetic. Overall, we found the Reef to meet our needs and expectations.

Sinceramente no regreso ni lo recomiendo a nadie. El concepto del hotel muy bueno igual limpieza, amabilidad, la playa buena, pero la comida Terrible, en el buffet no hay variedad de comida ninguna, siempre lo mismo, la comida fría en muchas ocasiones para no decir todo el tiempo, la calidad horrible, no hay variedad de postres, los cocteles horrible tanto en restaurantes como en el área de la piscina, no hay servicio a la playa, los muebles de las habitaciones viejos y rotos, en dos ocasiones encontré una cucaracha en la habitación. Creo que si le ponen atención a estos temas será un gran hotel. En el momento TERRIBLE
