Beautiful traditional hotel, full of character and history with incredible staff. Love the sea view, the indoor and outdoor pools and the full 5* service. Great food at the Garden restaurant, and excellent breakfast. There is a reason why this was my 10th stay! Only thing that slightly lets things down is the service in the evening at the bar, which (whilst being very friendly) is slow and always has been - so leave a bit of extra time for your cocktail!

We stayed for the East Bourne air show- a very hot weekend. We had a spacious room around the back somewhere without air conditioning, although a fan was provided (and we took one with us) and being out the glare of the sun we did not melt. Breakfast, again without aircon was uncomfortable. The hotel is in a great setting but now getting a little tired, that said, I cannot imagine what a refurb would cost nor whether it would be affordable! Breakfast its self was perfect and the staff, many of whom I suspect were draft in for the busy weekend, were nothing short of excellent. I will be going back next year, and would recommend it to others.

The hotel is a little tired. There was no soap in the ensuite, but the staff were excellent. A minor point but the road was closed and there was no parking (ahead of Airbourne) so there was parking available foc with a permit on the local streets and they could have advised this ahead of time to manage uncertainties on arrival. They also advertise they want well dressed diners in the restaurants which is both offputting and not really true!

Super stay. Bright, clean room Superior Classic. Had tasty sandwich lunch outside in sunshine. The hotel is wonderfully situated, set back from the road and coastline. Beachy Head walks very close by and superb promenade walks right out front by the sea. Great for Congress Theatre. Splendid historic building, facilities and friendly staff. Parking on site. Fabulous varied breakfast....cereals, fruits, smoked salmon/meats/cheeses and served hot breakfasts. Love it there. Thanks

Great facilities, spa treatment was lovely and the heated outdoor swimming pool in September was a bonus. Staff was all friendly, wide range of cocktails at the bar, restaurants were also of high standard.
