I am requesting a full refund for my recent booking at the Days Inn in Starkville, MS (made through Hotels.com). The room provided was unsafe, unsanitary, and unfit for occupancy.
Key issues included:
• Multiple electrical outlets not working, including near the bed.
• No in-room telephone to contact the front desk.
• Entry door that did not seal, leaving gaps for outside air and light.
• Mold, mildew, rust, and general filth throughout the room and bathroom.
• A refrigerator with heavy ice and rust buildup.
• Trash and debris around the property exterior.
Most concerning, at check-in an ozone machine had been running in the room — a device typically only used for severe contamination. Ozone exposure is unsafe, and this raised serious health concerns.
Because my stay coincided with a major football game in town, relocating was not a realistic option; other hotels were fully booked or priced far outside a reasonable range.
I am attaching photos that clearly document these conditions. Given the state of the room and property, I expect Hotels.com to issue a full refund.
