The AC was very good. Staff tried their best. The condition of the property was disgusting. When we arrived, I couldn’t believe that I had booked this place. A gentleman came out as I crossed the street to ask if I was checking in. He went through a long list of “rules” for the property. The outside areas resembled a tip!…No bedside lamps, a long black hair on the pillow, 2 king single beds pushed together with Ill -fitting linen, filthy overhead fan, odd bits and pieces of furniture….I can’t believe at the cost we paid for the night….we had stayed at a lovely motel the previous night in Griffith for half the price. I’m appalled that this establishment which calls itself a “resort” is a partner of hotels.com…

We stay here on our travels Nth and Return. Friendly staff, good stop over: room clean: air con/ tv/ microwave ( needs plates,cutlery etc) outdoor furniture needs update: nice pool, safe and secure location: grounds need attention (untidy) : needs a bit of improvement for $$s charged: will stay again next time

Go so Somewhere else

Keep looking! Staying at Sunshine Gardens was like staying in a hotel in 3rd world. I booked 2 bedroom unit, had a leak in room, cockroaches no cooking utensils or bowls very poor. Gates locked at 8 pm .safety .pool a petrie dish . Finally after numerous phone calls & screen shots of booking which stated could pay at property was finally agreeed. On site manager did the best he could considering it’s all on him, so I felt sorry for him but standard was below poor.

We were driving down from Queensland and our first stop in New South Wales was at Bourke. We had booked the resort through Wotif in March and received a confirmation email in August that informed us that we should pay on arrival at the property. We called the property in September and was informed again that we are required to pay at the property on arrival. When we arrived close to 7pm the Receptionist informed us that there was an event in town and they were fully booked. He also informed us that all the hotels in town were fully booked. We did show him the August email, but he refused to read the relevant clause through and kept saying that according to their internal procedures if it was confirmed they would have informed us 48 hours prior. This is the first time we heard of such a procedure. It is not acceptable. We were isolated in a strange town and decided to go to the Bourke Police. The Police said they had no knowledge of any event and very kindly gave us a list of motels in town. We were fortunate that there was a room available at one of the motels. We are extremely distressed at the turn of events, as if it has been a woman travelling on her own, she would have been at great risk. We are seniors and our safety and security was equally at risk. We were faced with sleeping in our car........in the town as the next town was 160kms away and the Police informed us it is dangerous to drive at night This should not be allowed to happen to other local tourists.
