After driving for 5 hours to get to my hotel, I arrived at 1215 am
When I walked into the vestibule the signs said to use the phone to call the on call clerk for after hours check in. When I did this, the clerk refused to check me in because it was after midnight and therefore no longer the day that I booked the room for. I asked to speak to a manager and was told a manager would not be available until Monday morning. This is beyond absurd. I have checked into several hotels on trips after midnight. I booked the room and paid for it and traveled several hours with my two minor children to attend my other daughter's college graduation and was refused entry to the room I paid for based on some policy that wasn't posted anywhere in the hotel or in the reservation email. I admit, I got very angry and used terrible language with the clerk, which I do regret, however, that never would have happened if I could have just checked in. Now my children and I are sleeping in my car and will not be able to shower or be in any way well rested before this important event. I'm livid and disgusted. This experience has ruined the weekend and I am demanding this be rectified.
