We recently stayed at Hotel Riu Palace Mexico and had a great experience overall. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The food was above average, offering a good variety of options, though some dishes stood out more than others.
The hotel property itself was clean, well-maintained, and generally quiet, making it a relaxing place to unwind. Evening entertainment was enjoyable most nights, providing a nice mix of performances.
While the rooms were a bit dated, the hotel quickly addressed our concern about the original room's location by offering a complimentary upgrade, which was a nice touch. This level of service truly made a difference in our overall experience.
One downside was the specialty restaurants, which didn’t seem to be the best compared to other Riu properties we’ve visited. They were generally empty, which made us question the overall dining experience in those venues. The biggest disappointment was the steak restaurant, where the crab cakes were chewy, the ribs were tough and oddly prepared, and unfortunately, no one in our group enjoyed their steaks.
Overall, we would recommend Hotel Riu Palace Mexico for its excellent service, cleanliness, and relaxing atmosphere, but we were underwhelmed by the specialty dining, particularly the steakhouse.
