Unfortunately, my stay was impacted by a couple of issues.
The main problem was that the air conditioning system was undergoing renovation throughout the hotel. As a result, the air conditioning in my room was not working. However, this was not communicated to me until after I had spent my first night in the room and enquired at reception about the issue. Reception staff were helpful and provided a small plug-in fan, which was appreciated, but it would have been better to have been informed of the situation upon arrival.
There was also an unpleasant drainage smell coming from the bathroom. Thankfully, the odour was contained to the bathroom and did not extend into the bedroom area, but it was still noticeable and detracted from the overall comfort of the room.
While the staff were helpful when I raised these concerns, I feel the hotel should be more proactive in informing guests about significant maintenance works and addressing maintenance issues within the rooms.
