Stupid move

Never in my life have we been charged for a parking spot at a hotel. Do you guard our car? Is there a fence around the parking lot? A gate to get in? No. Just a regular parking lot at a Hilton Garden Inn that someone decided to charge us for the privilege to park our car there. How else are we going to get to your hotel? We won’t be staying at a Hilton hotel in the future. Nothing like nickling and dimming your guests. We were also charged for something at The Shop that we did not purchase.

Conflicted

the man behind the service desk was very nice and helpful. I did not know rooms were not guaranteed through hotels.com. As far as the room goes it was nice my only comment on the room is the bed is extremely hard not very comfortable. Overall it was an ok stay. I was very disappointed in the pool area. The pool itself was freezing not enjoyable at all and no restroom in the area without having to go back to your room or out to the lobby which is not very convenient if in the pool.

Ok, but not worth the price

The room was clean. The bed was ok, not the most comfortable. The shower head was not spraying correctly. I was not aware that it was pay for parking. Continental breakfast was 12.95/person which was crazy- we choose to eat elsewhere. Staff was friendly.

Interesting pretend restaurant

I've generally been pleased with Hilton properties, but this place made my "don't return" list. The room itself was fine. The lobby was large but not particularly inviting. I was surprised when checking in to be told that I had purchased the 'bed and breakfast option' and breakfast was included. The paper voucher didn't indicate how many guests, and I was told it was good for both my friend and me. I was surprised to learn that the hotel had a restaurant (besides a breakfast which is usually included) and decided to try it for dinner that night. Not a soul was visible. I asked at the front desk and was told that a staff member would be informed. The very limited menu had two meatless items:hummus with vegetables and mushroom ravioli. The 'restaurant' was out of the ravioli and we decided to eat elsewhere. Breakfast was actually worse. The coffee had spoonfuls of grounds in it; a chafing dish containing what appeared to be overcooked eggs was broken, and the brown sugar was a geology specimen. The attendant was pleasant, but seemed unaware. The principal service provided seemed to be the presentation of checks. Empty plates and glasses languished on tables until the guests had left. There was nowhere apparent to bus your own table. My friend had meanwhile secured his own voucher for breakfast to avoid problems with the system. I'm not writing off Hilton yet, but my ideas about Hilton have been tarnished.

Sad day for the grandkids....and me!

I was extremely disappointed. I booked this hotel because I was taking my grandkids to COSI in Columbus, Ohio and then we were going a nice Hilton hotel with a heated swimming pool. But when we get there I'm informed that the pool heating works sometimes and this wasn't one of those times. It ruined our experience at the Hilton Garden Inn. I never even imagined an issue like this at a Hilton. Not only that but the pool room was quite cool also. I was not the only person with this issue. At least 2 families cancelled and went somewhere else because of the pool issue. I booked through hotels.com and I would have had to stay right there and get them on the phone to cancel because the front desk clerk said we have to go through hotels.com to cancel since it's a 3rd party situation. I've done that before but it was at least 45minutes to an hour to do that on a Saturday night so I didn't. We definitely would have stayed somewhere else if we had known. The room was fine and the breakfast was good.

Great area. Great property. I used my digital key and was not aware that the breakfast was not included. There are no written signs or verbal instructions given at the time of breakfast. Had I checked in at the desk, I was told, the cost was advised. I checked so many properties online, I did not remember that it is stated on the website. Lesson learned!

Good hotel stay but the breakfast wasn’t a hit

Our room was really clean, bed was alright, not the most comfortable but that’s okay! Breakfast was expensive for the lack of food offered. It was normal continental breakfast (minus pancakes) and it cost something like $12 a person. It was fine but still threw me off since the food wasn’t worth spending the money on. The employees were really kind!

Everything good: Check-in, hotel staff, room cleanliness, shower. The bad stuff: Hotel charges for breakfast. This was a simple breakfast buffet that most all other hotel chains (including Hilton Garden Inn) includes at no charge. Same eggs, same sausage links, same fruit medley, same bread choices, same orange juice, same oatmeal. $27 for two people! UNREAL! They also charge for parking. I have paid for parking before at hotels, but they usually are in the city and the only parking is a parking deck. This parking was for a regular hotel parking lot that you see at all hotels. They did not ask if I had a car or any license plate. I wonder if they would have charged me if I had taken an Uber to the hotel. Or maybe I could have parked for free at the neighboring hotel. I have never stayed at any Hilton Garden Inn and paid for breakfast or parking. I probably won’t be back.
