The property was nice and cozy. I have stayed at Kimpton properties in New York before and have always had a very pleasant experience.
The check-in process, however, felt a bit different this time. The front desk associate was not rude, but she came across as somewhat dry and did not provide much information upon arrival. There was no explanation regarding how the prepaid breakfast worked, and I was not given the breakfast vouchers at check-in. The following morning, during breakfast, I had to leave the restaurant and go back to the lobby to ask for them.
And There was also no disclosure about the valet parking cost, which ended up being $55 per day. On a positive note, the valet staff were extremely helpful, respectful, and welcoming throughout the stay.
Lastly, I did not receive any discount, upgrade, or VIP recognition despite being a Hotels.com Gold member, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the stay itself was comfortable, but the guest experience and communication at check-in could definitely be improved.
