The room was in quite poor condition and in need of renovation, peeling paint, stained walls in bathroom, chipped tile flooring, view from the window was not good as rubbish was piled up around the waste bins. I had a lovely spacious room, but it lacked some basic amenities like a box of tissues, a face washer, the shower was over the bath and I couldn't change the water over from the bath taps to the shower head. On Tuesday morning I was a awoken by a lot of noise, and later when I went to check out discovered that since last night all the carpet had been removed in the corridor outside my room. My shoes practically stuck to the exposed sticky floor beneath it. I really wondered why they put me in that room if work was going to be done immediately adjacent to my door. The staff apologised when I mentioned it on checking out, but it was too late by then. Best feature of the property is the location, in the heart of Chinatown and close to theatres. Can be a bit noisy if you're put in a room on the first couple of floors (I was just one floor up from the street).
