My stay with Sonder was by far the worst experience I’ve had in over 50 years of traveling. Although I booked through Hotels.com, everything depended on Sonder’s interface—which simply didn’t work. I spent 1–2 hours on the phone just trying to get room access and parking information. The access details they emailed linked back to their app, but the information wasn’t there.
There’s no on-site support; instead, you’re directed to call a number staffed by offshore agents with limited English proficiency. Every time I left the condo, I encountered other guests struggling to get into their units for the same reason—Sonder never provided them the proper access instructions.
To make matters worse, my condo was directly across the street from a bar that blasted live music from 5 PM to 10 PM every night, shaking the unit. Sonder’s only solution was to offer earplugs.
To be fair, the condo itself was clean, well-stocked, and as described. But the overall experience was chaotic and unacceptable. Sonder is poorly run and completely incompetent. I do not recommend staying with Sonder or at Village 21.
