Only positive is comfy bed

Hotel is bordered by I-94 on one side, and 24-hour truck parking on the other side, but hotel lobby doors are locked at 10pm, so that made us feel a little safer. Hotel lobby, stairs, and hallways were dirty. Room was clean, and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was tiny. Pool was OK, but hot tub was out of order, and we heard it has been that way for a long time. I would give this hotel a 2 1/2 stars at best.

horrible experience

Owner lied about pool being under construction could see the pool and hottub through the windows, 0 construction and everything working fine, horrible food for continental breakfast, the orange juice and apple juice were mixed with water, no bibles in the rooms, door mechanism was broken could not lock the room so had to keep valuables on our person, will never go there again

Don’t believe the star ratings

I stayed at this hotel solely due to the ratings it received. I never would have rented such a room had I known. Overall, the place was extremely dirty. The room was not even remotely up to the basic cleanliness standards. There was toothpaste splatter all over the walls, Blood on the Jacuzzi, and general filth in the bathroom. The door jams and metal items in the bathroom were so rusted and peeling that I cannot remember a time where I have ever seen such poor maintenance at a Americinn hotel.

Service was good. There were signs of some updating, such as painters tape on the vaulted ceilings in the lobby. The hot tub had half the water level and was colder than the pool but did not have any sign stating it was out of order. I could tell they were trying but need a fair amount of help updating.

Go somewhere else

The room was cleaned, but the was a dirty towel hanging on the coat hook, the mini soaps were half used, except the bar soap, and the room in general was in fairly used condition with patched holes in the tub, broken tiles in the bathroom and a square of replaced carpet that was frayed. Upon checking in we were welcomed with a 'reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reaseon' sign in large bold letters leading us not to complain about the out of service pool and dreadful smell in the room. We didn't want to be kicked out as we were a late checkin, during a snowstorm with our very young child. Horrible experience overall, will not be staying at this chain again.

I made reservations for my anniversary on a certain room a suite. Drove all the way there and they told me my room was under construction! They could have called or told me that ahead of time. The room was extremely, I'm glad I got there earlier than my wife so I spent an hour and a half cleaning it and sanitizing! In that same day that night I realized my card was compromised and the bank shut my card down and the only place I used it was an American inn. I worked very hard on planning this anniversary for my wife and the only part of this whole ordeal was the bad State America in I will never ever ever in my life stay there again

We decided to stay at this hotel because they offered a room with a jetted hot tub. We paid more thinking it would work. We got to the front desk and the employee was out for their break. 20 minutes later, she walks in with a group of people, doesn't apologize or greet us and immediately asks for my ID. Her customer service skills could have been better. Our room was clean and spacious and then we get to the tub. The jets do not work. I asked the front desk employee if they were having issues, she said no and that all we have to do is press the button and make sure the water is filled at a certain level. We attempted multiple times and the jets still didn't work. We chose this hotel for this specific reason. The holiday inn across the street should have been our first choice and it would have been cheaper. Also, the pool was out of service during our time. Breakfast was not the best we've had. The eggs looked weird and there wasn't enough batter for the waffles. It was empty. I did tell the front desk employee that the Jetted tub didn't work in case people started complaining about that room. The breakfast didn't even have fruit and all of their juices were watered down. If you're in the area, just choose the holiday inn across the street.
