The room was very unloved, really needs a coat of paint and varnish. Less mirrors on the ceiling and walls would be good. The bathroom was extremely tiny, in fact you could clean your teeth while you are using the toilet the sink was that close. We were unable to use the shower due to the state it was in.....black mould on the shower ceiling and ceiling paper coming away, shower head was thickly caked in limescale and the tiles were all loose around the bottom of the panel. On a lighter note, the staff were lovely and very helpful and the out of hours instructions on how to get your key were great.

Ok but probably would not stay again

Although we didn’t have breakfast (didn’t start until way too late), I understand the choices were very limited. Rooms were very small, staircases were very narrow which made carrying our luggage up the stairs quite difficult. The front desk was very friendly. Location of hotel was great so if that is important then this is the hotel for you. If a little larger room with some amenities is important then I would look elsewhere.

The staff and reception are the only reason I’m not giving one star. Unfortunately the rooms and the rest of the building are way past their best. Windows are cracked, floor tiles are broken, thick layer of dust on the bed frame and the bathroom is a mess of peeling sealant, carpets in the hall are threadbare and paintwork has worn off. The bathroom of my room was tiny, you have to climb over the toilet to get in the shower and you can rest your head on the sink in front of you while sitting on the toilet. For the price, I shouldn’t be surprised and wasn’t expecting five star, just a well put together basic room.

Within walking distance of attractions and lots of dining options which is why we booked this place. Friendly staff called a taxi for us many times ( It poured and we couldn’t walk to our destination). towel bars in bathroom are needed to reuse towels. Remove the chairs and put in a luggage holder. Inconvenient to always have to put suitcase on the bed to access contents.

The only good things about this place are the location (of the hotel) and the friendly front desk lady staff. The hotel in general plus the room where we stayed at needs some major work to be considered hospitable and fit for any form of stay.

We knew there was no elevator and it was definitely an experience we laughed a lot about getting ourselves and our luggage up to the 5th floor. Just keep this in mind when booking.

The room was small but really cute, i had booked specifically because all the mirrors looked fun. Everything was very clean and bed was comfortable. The staff are really lovely. I would stay here again. The location could not have been better.

Be prepared for steep stairs! I knew there wasn't an elevator, but staying on the fourth (US fifth) floor was a pretty steep hike. The room and bed were comfortable, though the TV didn't have a signal. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but the shower had great water pressure and hot water. There wasn't daily housekeeping in the room, which was fine for me, but FYI for others. I loved the convenience of the location -- it was close to a lot and super convenient, but on a quiet canal and so was nicely peaceful at night. It was also a lot closer to Waterlooplein than it seemed on the map, so that was a nice surprise when arriving. The room would be tight for two people, but wasn't too cramped for just me.
