Comfortable Stay with Friendly Service

Very comfortable bed with ample pillows. Great service. A plus is the hot breakfast that is included with your stay. Also fun to see Irish Dancing in the pub on Saturday evening and folk-pop singer on Sunday evening. All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

DEFINITELY A PLACE IN MY HEART

It was a such wonderful place & our visit was much too short. However we will definitely return there. This was a anniversary getaway for us. Many things in town are closed in town on Mondays but we always made it work regardless. The Irish Cottage staff were absolutely great & willing to help in any way. Plus they serve a nice hot breakfast that is included in room. We loved the all the Irish decor down to the imitation coal burning fireplaces (one of my favorite things) & the restaurant is so cozy. We were quite impressed with their outststanding library & collections. We left with great memories of this charming place.

Food, fun and rest all in one stop!

Girls trip! 4 of us came from out of state to visit Galena. How delightful that we could arrive to a very clean and friendly Irish Cottage Inn & Suites in the mid-evening, put our bags in our room and walk to the adjoining restaurant, Frank Odowd's for dinner. The food was incredible, the service delightful, the drinks fun and delicious, and the live music made for a great way to end our evening! Then, we walked back to our room that was impeccably clean, the beds and pillows were comfy and the room temperature easy to control. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would encourage others to stay here and do the same. You won't regret it!

You May Get A Surprise

Room was very clean. Would have liked elevated toilet. First encounter with front desk was so-so. Later staff much more engaging and helpful. Breakfast was very good but no milk or orange juice. Not happy to be told the night before checkout that there was a $10 per person daily amenities fee for things like breakfast, shuttle (not used) afternoon tea and 24 hour coffee bar as well as another additional $50 fee for things that might have been charged to your room (didn't do this). The website says breakfast included but nothing about having to pay for it. I was never told about these additional fees during check-in and only asked when I saw a paper on the front desk and asked about it. Just letting folks know that when they think they have fully paid for their stay, it isn't so.

Very nice place, clean rooms, Breakfast was great with plenty of options the two mornings we were there. Staff was very helpful. Downtown Galena is only minutes away. Beware - it's like Las Vegas there's a Resort Fee per Day :( - Also 2Q rooms don't have a private bathroom. Sink is outside the stool/shower. Makes it tough when Mom needs to use the hir dryer and turn on the lights above the sink and wake up everybody in the room.
