The stay itself was fine, but what happened afterward left a bitter taste. I accidentally left my spectacles case in the room and contacted the hotel, who confirmed they had found it. Unfortunately, that’s when the problems began. After numerous emails, I was quoted between €55 and €90 to return the empty case to the UK, an unreasonable amount by any standard.
Having spent over £1,200 for a four-night stay, I expected a far higher level of service and basic goodwill from the hotel. Sadly, this experience has completely put me off staying at any Hoxton property again.
