This town is pretty bare bones. It was a halfway home stop after climbing the Oklahoma state highpoint. Staff super friendly at the hotel but it is run down and I could smell marijuana being smoked in one of the other rooms.

The first room they put us in had a broken bathroom door, then we stepped on a goathead thorn, and when we went to throw that away, the trash can was full of trash from a previous guest. then we looked down by the bed and saw some chocolate candy crushed into the carpet - at least we are hoping it was chocolate candy. We then left the room and asked to be put into a different room - they re-assgined us and we went and slept for the night. The next morning we got up to shower and the shower curtain was all yellow and full of mildew at the base - a TERRIBLE smell on it. We suffered through, showered and left. Needless to say - NEVER again staying there!!

The room was clean and well kept. The staff was personable an nice to talk with. The room I stayed in had an older heat pump that was making noise beyond what a normal wall heat pump should. Same for the refrigerator it was old and making funny noises in refrigerant system. They should update both appliances when they can afford to. The shower was clean and gave me a nice hot shower. I had some eggs, sausage and a biscuit for breakfast before heading back out on the road.

Room was clean, but that was about all I could say for the positives. Girl checking us in said maybe 10 words max, “ID”, “card on file”, “click no, sign” and that was it. Go up to the room, which was clean, however the room was so loud overnight. Train horn blaring multiple times overnight. Empty room next door had an alarm set for 2:50am that went on for 5+ minutes straight multiple times until I finally got earplugs. I usually stay at the best western in Clayton and fully regret not spending the extra $10 to, it is more than worth it. Also; there is no pool or hot tub and they have no plans to fix either, so they should really take it off their amenities list.
