I recently stayed at Barcelo Hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While the property itself had potential, the customer service left a lot to be desired.
From the moment I checked in, it was clear that the front desk staff, particularly an employee named Ismael (or possibly Samuel), had a selective approach to customer service. He was notably rude and unhelpful, providing mediocre answers to my questions and showing little willingness to assist. It felt as though he chose which guests to pay attention to, which made the check-in process frustrating.
The dining experience was equally disappointing. The food at the specialty restaurants was served cold, and on one occasion, my meal was actually raw. When I asked for an extra item, the server seemed visibly annoyed, which added to my overall dissatisfaction.
Additionally, the entertainment options were limited. The shows were only an hour long, and with dinner reservations being scarce, we ended up missing several events because we couldn’t find a suitable time to eat.
Overall, I expected a much higher standard of service from Barcelo Hotel. I hope they take this feedback seriously and work on improving their customer experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I don’t plan to return.
