The lobby and common areas are quite impressive due to the abundance of natural foliage and flowing water throughout the expansive building. The rooms all open out around atrium. The rooms really need some TLC. The first room had a vent problem that sounded like a squeaky obnoxious dryer in the ceiling, and smelled strongly of pet smell. The staff quickly moved us to another room, which was easy and painless. Both rooms were very out of date and grungy looking. The plethora of old curtains were half on, half off. The other people staying were a rougher looking crowd—not sure if this is indicative of the town in general, or this specific hotel, but based on what I observed, I think it’s just the town in general. I would not leave older kids/teens unsupervised/alone—always at least two together, and stay aware!
The breakfast was a nice spread and presentation was lovely. Abundantly staffed.
Overall, I’m not sure you’ll find much better in the area. Each hotel will likely feel a little unsafe and subpar. So this might be just as good of a pick as the others, and at least the common areas are expansive and beautiful here.
