We moved rooms two times. First move due to no elevators in the first building. Second move due to brown liquid coming from pipes into the bathroom. All inclusive doesn’t include all restaurants, just two fine dining restaurants over an eight day stay. The fine dining wasn’t worth the extra cost of eating there again. Buffet dining was mediocre and nothing to get excited about, and wasn’t enjoyable for three meals a day. The oceans view were beautiful but doesn’t compensate the whole experience.

We had a great view of the ocean and saw beautiful sunsets everyday from our room. The staff is very attentive and friendly, food was great and the nightly entertainment was very enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and loved the minibar with water and soda refills daily. This is our second stay at a Barcelo hotel, the other being Huatulco and can't go wrong, we are planning our next Barcelo stay as we speak...thank you Barcelo.

Ixtapa me encantó, pero mi estancia en este hotel resultó una experiencia mixta. Al llegar a recepción, la actitud de la señorita que me atendió no fue la más cordial. Al pedirle que me explicara nuevamente qué incluía mi paquete “todo incluido”, mostró molestia y me indicó que únicamente tenía acceso al buffet y a un restaurante durante mis tres noches de estancia. He visitado otros hoteles con el mismo concepto en Punta Mita y Los Cabos donde la información es clara desde el inicio, por lo que esta respuesta me sorprendió. Debido a la falta de claridad, terminé desayunando prácticamente lo mismo todos los días (chilaquiles) y comprando comida fuera del hotel. No fue sino hasta el tercer día que pregunté a la encargada de las reservaciones de restaurantes, quien me aclaró que sí podía comer en el snack bar. Sin embargo, al acudir, la señora que atendía ahí se mostró grosera y, además, la calidad de los alimentos dejó mucho que desear. Molesto por la situación, incluso le comenté a mi pareja que no regresaría a este hotel. Afortunadamente, por la noche teníamos reservación en el restaurante italiano—al cual casi no acudimos pensando que sería otra decepción. Para nuestra sorpresa, el señor Alejandro y el joven Alfredo nos dieron un trato excepcional, nos hicieron sentir realmente bien y lograron que pasáramos una velada muy agradable. La comida en el restaurante italiano fue exquisita. Gracias a ellos, y solo por su atención, consideraría regresar a Barceló.

We came down on our honeymoon. We found the staff were very amazing. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. I would’ve given a full five star review but a couple things stood out to us that we found to lower our rating. 1. No one told us anything about the resorts many attractions when we arrived. They just signed us in and we were left to our own devices. My wife and I had to hunt down maps and figure out where everything was 2. The concierge times are unknown and not posted anywhere. We asked the front desk several times where the concierge was and they kept pointing to an empty office. We eventually found out they showed up at 9am (maybe) and stayed for an uk own period of time. 3. This resort uses a beach which the public uses as well. We were not informed of this at all. It didn’t damper our experience whatsoever but we found that we didn’t trust our things left j attended at all. 4. The bars are all staged times of open and closed. We had to figure it out our own way as there was no map or pamphlet explaining which bars were open when. Or restaurants The good things! The food on the Friday Mexican party was unreal. Best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The bartender at the smaller pool (had braces, can’t remember his name) was amazing and super friendly. Mr. Joy at the front desk helping with the bags was a delight! The Barceló team made up our bed with lots of roses in a heart shape for when we arrived. I found that to be an amazing and thoughtful gift! Thank you!

The room was clean but dated. On our first morning the rooms had no electricity. That same morning the main coffee machines were down for 2 hours. Many upset guests. Food was subpar at best. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean.

Le doy 3 estrellas porque no me dieron factura y porque no me pudieron resolver el tema de la factura. Solo por esto no vuelvo a venir. Me quede en las suites familiares, las instalaciones de la suites son “rústicas” algo viejas, paredes con humedad, a la regadera le falta alguna puerta para que no se encharque el agua al momento de bañarse, tenía un tema de hormigas en la habitación, muy amplia. Comida: Buena, variada. Faltaría un poco de variedad en los postres. Muy buena atención de los meseros y las hostes. Bebidas de barra libre. Buenas para lo que es, los bar tender a veces andan un poco estresados, los chicos que reparten bebidas son muy atentos y están al pendiente siempre. Alberca, camastros, acceso a playa e instalaciones en general muy bien. SHOW: es otro nivel, los bailarines son muy talentosos, hay uno en particular que es muy delgado que tiene mucho carisma. Las bailarinas bailan muy bien. La banda Barceló muy animada, pero quien se roba todo el show es el cantante Alejo, muy profesional, canta excelente, muy buena voz y muy versátil, presencia en el escenario y después cuando sigue al bar da muy buen show. Igual muy atentos los meseros en el show y el Bar Sanca.
