We stayed in the sunset bay suites off the main property. It was a really nice sized unit with living room, kitchen, and separate bedroom. The highway noise is a little loud if sitting out on the porch but not really noticeable inside. The size of the room outweighs that. It also did not bother us to have to walk over to the main property to use the amenities. They have a nice pool, hammocks, a beach to hang out on and a nice dock. We didn’t take advantage of the free kayak and bike use but saw several who did. There is a restaurant next door but didn’t try it either. Overall I thought it was a great resort and staff were super friendly. I received several texts throughout our stay just making sure all was going well. I appreciated that. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because there were a few little tlc things that I think could be done, but not something that would influence my decision to stay there again. Nor did I feel it was something that needed attention while I was staying there. I would stay there again if in the area.

Resort did not have our booked room available. Told by manager it was a "maintenance" issue. Was supposed to have a waterfront king studio with walk-out to a beach area and a kitchen. We were placed in another room with a mini fridge, a broken toaster, a sub-par view, and near a busy road (Overseas Hwy). The road had semi-truck noise at all hours of the day and night, and we could not carry on a conversation on the balcony due to the traffic noise. We were told that this room was "equivalent" to our booked room, but it did NOT have what we wanted which was a kitchen, peacefulness, and a view. This was our first time in the Keys, and it came close to ruining our vacation. They did give us a 50% refund, but it really did not make up for the room mix up and their alternate accommodations.

The townhouse needs some improvements like the outlets in the master bathroom, the coffee pot did not drip without holding the pot up to the dripper and the sliding glass doors upstairs and downstairs do not lock. The on premise bar/restaurant had a nice selection of bar food. The location is great!
