Be careful with inflated ratings

I’m not sure why this location has received such high ratings in the past, but it’s an old building that has been somewhat refurbished. I guess I expected more with the high ratings. I have no complaints with the staff; Velocity was kind and helpful. Our room had table lamp cords that could not reach the electrical outlets, a tv remote that didn’t work and the room had water leaking from the ceiling onto a small couch. We had to be moved to another room. I certainly was not impressed with the breakfast. It was small, had very few options, and they ran out of eggs and sausage while we were there. I could still recommend this hotel but not with a high rating.

Late check in . Beds were very comfortable with extra pillows . Friendly staff . Great breakfast . Pancake conveyer belt . With a fancy coffee machine that made great reg coffee and even flat white . I would stay there again .

Good little place to stay

We stay here everytime we come to the Morehead area. The hotel is a little older, but it is always very clean, and the mattresses and pillows are so comfortable. The big draw for us though is the friendliness of the staff! The breakfast is good too! My kids love the pool and there are always adequate pool towels.

So far, I paid ahead of time online through Expedia and have been charged TWO additional times by the hotel. Waiting to get things resolved. Two different front desk people didn’t know what they were doing/ didn’t know how to do a refund. One person even apologized that she didn’t typically work the desk and didn’t know what to do. Very frustrating experience at this point.

Seemed a little expensive for the area and accommodations. Breakfast was seemingly Microwaved/Premade/Frozen foods. Pillows were abundant but all very lumpy and not comfortable. Bathroom was really cramped for two people. Can’t imagine if 4 people were all trying to get ready in there.

Reserved this room for a relative passing thru. My card was charged and I received a hotels.com confirmation number. My brother called me and said when he arrived, the font desk personnel stated my reservation did not go through and that he'd have to pay for the room with his credit card. Thus, one room was charged twice. I called later in the night to resolve the issue. A different person working the desk admitted the previous worker was incorrect. The new desk worker removed the charge on my brother's credit card and confirmed my reservation had, indeed, gone through on hotels.Com to begin with. I was not happy that we were charged twice for the same room.
