The Kings Arms Hotel is located in a small village called Kyleakin just over the bridge when you arrive to the Isle of Skye. We stayed here because it was significantly cheaper than staying in Portree. Travelling by car, we spent a few days hiking around the island and actually enjoyed staying a bit more remotely. It made commuting to our hikes more timely, but we felt like we got to experience more of the island this way. The town is cozy with a few pubs to eat - basic food but fun, rural vibes. The hotel itself did just the trick. Nothing fancy but the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and the staff were generally friendly and easy-going. Would stay here again.

Decepcionante desde o início. Fomos recebidos com extrema falta de cordialidade. A equipe parecia contrariada por termos uma reserva, recusando-se inicialmente a aceitá-la alegando que não tinha quarto disponível. Não houve qualquer orientação no momento do check-in, e em nenhum momento sentimos que éramos hóspedes, mas sim que estávamos “incomodando” por estar ali. Uma experiência desagradável, que definitivamente não condiz com o mínimo de hospitalidade esperado.

Scary shower

Lift was out of order. There was not enough parking. Reception was not friendly. Shower was a bathtub with a 1/2 glass partition. Terrifying to get in and out. So outdated. Shower had pink mold. Old towels were left in bathroom from prior guest. Place was run down.

Hotellet ligger nemt ved Skye Bridge i med fin udsigt. Værelset var dårligt indrettet men badeværelse var fint. God service, god mad. Kunne parkere ca 200 m fra hotellet på offentlig parkeringsplads. Lidt høj pris.

Das Hotel ist ein Busreise Hotel mit vielen großen Gruppen und täglich sehr viel Zimmerwechsel. Es ist ständig der Geruch von Reinigungsmittel, Raumsprays oder Zigarettenrauch in der Luft - das hat unseren Hund vollkommen verrückt gemacht. Die Betten sind durchgelegen, die Fenster klappern, sind undicht und man hört sämtliche Nachbarzimmer, zum Beispiel beim schnarchen. Das Personal ist allerdings extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Breakfast madness

The room was clean and had everything you needed although basic. Used as a coach stop so breakfast was awful with loads of people and stuff running out all the time. I will not be staying again.

Hotel was easy to find ,reception was friendly and informative , room was clean and tidy . Only downside was at breakfast , both mornings we were there , there was no eggs , we spent about half a hour eating our breakfast and no eggs appeared . We asked a member of staff each morning why there was no eggs and he just shrugged his shoulders , for the price we paid for breakfast this was not very good value for money

Lovely building - needs renovation

The Hotel Manager told us there was a staff shortage. That aside, our room was not cleaned once in three days. Bins were not emptied. The tea and coffee not replenished. We went to Reception on Day 2, to ask why. We were given a hanging door sign to request that it be cleaned. Came back that evening - not cleaned. We went back to Reception to get clean towels etc. You pay for a hotel so this kind of thing is done for you.

My experience

Basic template for your hotel review: The room was not that clean. For example, it is not nice to find someone else’s dental floss on the carpet, coffee stains around the kettle. Even though we had booked 3 people for 3 nights, both the shampoo and body wash containers were empty. The next morning before leaving for the day’s activities, we politely asked to get refills which did not seem a problem to the front desk. On our return later that evening, the bottles had not been refilled. Inquiring a second time, we were surprised to be told that we should bring the bottles down ourselves to be refilled. Even though ended up the staff came up and refilled it, but it wasn't a good experience. The bathroom is newly done but the room is outdated and the mattresses are very old and no support.

hotel was clean enough,however there was no shampoo or shower gel in bathrooom.there was only 1 toilet roll and it wasn't even a full one.there were tea making facilities but there were no spoons.there was no fire safety instructions in the room.stayed for 2 nights and housekeeping did not do our room or change the towels which was a bit inconvenient as there was no towel rail in the bathroom where you could hang the towels to dry.but the worst thing i found was the fact that the large bathroom window had clear glass in it,there was no blind but it did have a curtain,but the window was on a slant so even if you closed it there was still a big gap at either side
