Service was poor. No manager on duty on weekends. Fresh blood on the sheets.
Just wanted a quick getaway to relax on the beach and to grab dinner on a Saturday night. Arrived at 4pm for check-in time. There was a line of 6 people in front of me and only one person working the desk. When it was my turn, my room won’t be available until 5. I was told I could wait by the pool. At 5pm, there were 3 people working the desk and was told housekeeping needed another 20 minutes. Apparently housekeepers didn’t show up and the ones there had cleaned the wrong rooms. Finally at 5:40pm (an hour and 40 minutes after check-in), our room was ready. We missed our dinner reservations and didn’t get to relax on the beach. While the front desk worker gave me a discount, we didn’t get to enjoy the evening as expected. We pivoted to make the most of it. When it was time for bed, I noticed there were drops of blood on the sheets; not old blood that had been through the laundry, but bright red dried blood. I wasn’t bleeding anywhere so it had to be staff who folded the sheets or put the bed together. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. We wanted a do not disturb sign, which some doors had, but no one was at the front desk (we waited 5 minutes and gave up) around 9:30 am. The day before they said they were going to leave a note for the manager to help, but upon checkout front desk said it’s a small boutique hotel that was trying their best and there was no manager again today.
