We had a great stay at NW Castle, it suit us perfectly as the kids were well entertained with the games room and pool. Our room was recently renovated and this was hugely welcomed as I had been expecting a tired decor. The hotel is full of charm and that added to the unique experience. All staff were fabulous and helpful. We will likely return for our next trip to Stranraer, thank you to the team.

I loved this little hotel, which was within walking distance of the train station. They also provided a great breakfast and the view of the harbour is charming! The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Overall we thought the general standard was very good.The toasters were in need of update ie new elements.Food and sevice were excellent.Lounge area was very comfortable.If we had aproblem the swimming pool needed attention .The access rails were loose and there was no security rails on the sides and around the side to hold if a problem arises.We look forward to visiting again.The management were visible and helpful.A rare change in ythis modern world!

Nice hotel but bad soundproofing in room 99 . Two nights without sleep because of the thin walls . First night next room 100 child screaming and yelling all night . Second night young men having a party all night from midnight to 6 am . Bathroom was old from the 1970s but staff were non binary and lgbt friendly. and room was nice

Stayed here recently and had a really pleasant experience. The hotel is a bit dated, but I actually quite liked that—it has a bit of character. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The price was reasonable, and the room was spacious and comfortable. My daughter especially loved the facilities, particularly the swimming pool and games room. There was plenty to keep her entertained with table tennis, snooker, pool, and even indoor bowls. Overall, a great stay and good value for money. Would happily return.

Hotel is a bit basic clean and welcoming situated not far from train station and bus services also close to town centre which is like all others run down the harbour area is also a bit run down plenty of pubs nearby the swimming pool is OK.but there is no shower in the actual pool.area so when you come out Jacuzzi and Sauna you have to return to changing area shower and then return to the pool Food and Drink was not overly expensive and a good choice for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner

The staff were extremely pleasant and check in was flawless, we received an obviously recently renovated room and was fantastic with very tasteful decor, the Bluetooth mirror was a great touch! We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on food, but the pints in the bar were good. There is a games room and it’s quite well stocked including snooker, table tennis and an indoor bowls mat! There is also a a seasonal ice rink used for curling which would have been great to see but obviously not in June! The only negative would be a slightly dated lounge/dining area but there does appear to be renovations being done. We only stayed for a night but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again as it fitted our needs.
