I want to give this hotel a great rating because the view was breathtaking and the property itself was lovely. However, our experience started off poorly. We had prepaid through Hotels.com, but upon check-in, the front desk lady told us we had an additional few more hundred “balance” due. At first, I assumed it was just for incidentals, but she insisted it was an actual charge and told us we had to contact Hotels.com to resolve it.
This really ruined the first hour of our trip—our first real vacation in two years. Thankfully, after multiple calls, Hotels.com was able to get in touch with the hotel. Eventually, both the front desk lady and the manager apologized and removed the charge. But it was incredibly frustrating and stressful. Our 2-night stay could have DOUBLED!!!
That said, once the issue was resolved, we enjoyed the rest of our time and truly loved the hotel itself. Just be very cautious about billing and double-check your reservation details if you book through a third-party site.
