Needs modernisation
Mixed review m from me, I picked this hotel based on previous experience from 8 years ago. I’m sad to report the hotel hasn’t changed. Still the same style. It is in desperate need of modernisation. My main issue is with the lifts. There are 2 lifts, 1 was out of order for the whole weeks stay. The other broke down every other day, leaving no option to use the staff service elevator or walk up 5 flights of stairs. Service in the restaurant was very slow and unorganised. Staff especially slow at offering drinks for purchase with the evening meal. On the last night I bought a Redbull in from the vending machine right outside the restaurant and got told I couldn’t take a drink in. I was directed to a sign which actually stated you cannot take food or drink out of the restaurant but didn’t specific taking into the restaurant. The staff member apologised and offered to serve me a drink but again this was after I had finished my main course. There are vending machines which are very expensive. There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk away with a bakery that offers drinks and snacks are half the price. Easy to reach the hotel by public transport A2 bus but note they do not except card.
