Roach Motel!

I planned my birthday trip to Muskegon and tried to save a few dollars by staying at this hotel. After 30mins of arriving, my family and I saw baby roaches crawling in the bathroom, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and tell myself that they were just baby roaches and all I have to do is get through this weekend but when my family and I returned from dinner and a movie with a take-home container to put in the fridge, all of a sudden an adult roach showed up out of nowhere. I went to the front desk and informed the clerk, she said that they don't get complaints like this and to make matters worse, when my daughter showed her the picture she took of the roach the clerk said that the bug in the picture was not a roach as if I didn't know what they look like. We had to get into another hotel in the middle of the night in order to sleep in peace. My suggestion is that you spend the money it takes to sleep in peace! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, it was amazing! Do Not Stay At This Terrible Hotel(Travelodge)! I wish I could upload the photo we took of the roach, it wasn't clear enough to upload on this platform.

Not in a good area,there’s a store next to hotel and the people that were around didn’t seem to be good people(I’m thinking a lot of drugs in the area. But the hotel is safe we had no issues. The stay was quiet! Beds were ok(personal preference of to hard) and was clean! The breakfast was good, hands down the best biscuits I’ve ever had. Nice and fluffy.

Needs Attention, but OK.

The hotel was ok. My only complaints were some areas of the room really needed cleaning. The carpet by our window was very sticky, the bed frames and walls on headboard needed a good wipedown. Pillows were small and lacking stuffing for any head support. The staff was very nice though and deposit was $20 cash, which they gave back upon check out. Breakfast was good but the room to eat was small and you werent allowed to bring it back to your room to eat. Housekeeping came in unannounced around 10am and checkout was 11am. So there are some minor, yet very fixable issues.

A great stay!

Don't be put off by the neighborhood and roads. The hotel is great. An off-the-beaten -path place. Great service arranging an extra night for us. Great bed. Clean room. It was just right for our base while exploring the Muskegon area.

It wasn’t nothing like how the picture was online. It way to noisy and guest was knocking on my door at 1am, and no elevator I’m handicap and my legs was hurting bad
