Booked for 3 nights, we basically just looked at property, everything was dirty, missing tiles on the floors, mold in the showers poop in the toilets just horrible. We turned around gave the keys back and told the person in charge that we where not staying there, and we explained why. Contracted Hotels.com and explained all this, they told me they would work with the property to get me a refund. So far no refund and no updates. Had to pay another $2100 to stay at a different hotel.

Pine Mountain House from HELL !

Big Pines is under new management from the last time we stayed there. The WIFI (Television reception) was very bad and inconsistant, the Pool was being renovated, hair dryer was broken, the safe was inoperable. The smoke detector was "metal strapped " to the wall ! It as a very bad experience, I would rate them 0/10 points.

Dont recommend this hotel at all

When we booked the room, we booled a 'King Suite with a kitchen". Upon arrival, we were told "that's on the bottom floor and if we wanted a top floor, it wasn't available. And, there'd be no price adjusted. The first room, they put us in, the shower wouldnt stop dripping, and there was water on the floor. The second room, the carpet felt 'sticky' and the bed had a HUGE dip in it. The manager, Ron said he couldnt switch out a matress until the next day. At this point its 1pm, and check in for other rooms was 3 hrs away. We booked elsewhere and now have to deal with insurance. Wont be going back.

Loud AC, hard beds, lack of pillows

Beds were hard as rocks. Felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The pillows were miniature and lumpy. My kids and I had to use the sheets and wrap them under our necks to try to make pillows out of them. Bad neck pain every morning. Also the ac was a loud unit that hung by the ceiling near my bed. So loud it kept us up at night and was too hot outside to turn it off.

The suite was just a larger room that was quite old in the inside. The stove/oven barely worked and there was an old broken fridge in the room as well as an old AC unit that needed a good cleaning. My crawler immediately had dirty legs and feet from the ground which means floors weren’t cleaned sufficiently. Overall it was okay for the price, but not exactly what I thought we were getting. Definitely needs some updating.

I never expect much when we decide on a last minute overnight stay but when your a motel in South Lake Tahoe I believe an effort should and can be made on upkeep especially these days.

Honestly the worst I’ve ever had in Tahoe! The bed was in sleep-able! Toilet was even bolted down to floor it moved all over. No smoke detectors in room. Management/owner let everyone party both days until 3am. Charged me $25 for early check in and asked for cash payment so basically that went in their pocket… I didn’t mind paying it but it was a bogus fee. I paid a lot of money and honestly feel like I got ripped off!!! Based on what was expected when booked. I couldn’t check out fast enough the last day and left by 7am…. Very disappointed VERY!!

Overall the hotel isnt bad. Its fine for one night stay. The tv was small, the none of the lights matched. The shower is small and the soap dish rack had rust in it. The floor boards also had cracks in them. They could definitely use some upgrades.

We got the wrong room initially and then when we got the right room, the bed looked like it hadn’t been made. The room and the outside of the place looked outdated and not like what the picture showed.
