Loved this hotel in what is one of our favorite areas in London. Conveniently located near Tower Hill as well as many TFL options within various walking distances. The room decor was outstanding and the bed offered the absolute best sleep ever. Loved the Nespresso coffee, teas and biscuits replenished daily, as well as the sparkling and still waters. The free breakfast, a la carte and self serve were fantastic! I will stay here again for sure. However, there are some caveats and things people should know before booking. First, the beds are listed as king size. Note the smallest "king" size is really a North American queen or double. But the bed comfort and sleep makes up for it. The staff at breakfast were phenomenal, except for one who truly seemed lost, distracted, or something to that effect. It spoiled our morning and took us 45 minutes to get our breakfast. Truly inexcusable. No apologies given. It took a colleague to proactively but remotely acknowledge that something happened. But there was no apology or remorse, just an excuse. Regardless, we'd stay here again. Note as well that this is a heritage building that has been renovated. The hot water on one day did not flow steadily and would waver between hot and cold. On another day they needed to cut the hot water completely. Lastly, bring ear plugs if you are not a sound sleeper. The floors do creek despite the amazing carpeting. And, the building rumbles gently due to public transit. Again, a non-issue for us.

We had a fantastic stay! Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were all lovely, the bar was great and we got a drink on the house from the hotel, snacks/drinks included in the room. The location was brilliant. We had breakfast in the morning that was included in the price and it was fresh and so nice. The room was immaculate and really nicely decorated. All in all a great stay!

Hotel itself is very pleasant. I enjoyed a good sized room with excellent shower and bath. Very clean and well laid out. Great location very close to Aldgate tube station and about a 7 minute walk to Liverpool Street tube station. King size bed was two twins with a soft topper mattress which created a dip in the middle but slept ok. Bar staff and breakfast staff all very polite and helpful but Check In was terrible. Arrived at 2.15 pm and was greeted by what can only be described as a grunt from the "gentleman" behind reception counter. He was simply rude and disinterested. No form of welcome or smile. The worst check in experience I can ever recall. For the price point, the hotel facilities are very good but I simply would not stay here again given how unwelcome I was made to feel on arrival.
