Comfortable, Great view, so-so Cleanliness

Had a nice stay at Oceanfront for four nights, while working in C.City. It was my second stay there in the past two weeks. The jacuzzi/balcony rooms are very comfortable, with a lot of space and a dedicated desk area. The jacuzzi tub does the job, just about roomy enough for two. Bed is a cheaper memory foam brand, but ver comfortable. The view from the balcony is fantastic, though there is not much privacy between neighbors. Room was a bit dusty with some grit on the floor when I arrived, but i requested a clean after a few days and the floors really gleamed after that. Coffee/maker is decent, especially when fortified with some additional instant. Some of the trim was coming loose in my room, but it didn’t bother me too much. I will stay there again (and have already booked my next work weekend).

The entire hotel was in our room with us!

The ocean view was really nice. That’s where all positives end. The bed wasn’t too bad though the pillows were rock hard and the single blanket was paper thin. The curtains didn’t block out morning light, but who could sleep in with the child upstairs jumping off the bed repeatedly at 5am, the tile floors in the hallway echoing every single step and the walls so thin and without any kind of sound proofing that I COULD HEAR OUR NEIGHBORS ZIP UP THEIR SUITCASE. Seriously, Hotels.com should allow me to post the video I took where you can actually hear the people next door zipping their suitcase closed and talking at normal levels as if in our very room. You could hear the people above us (jumping child and all) talking, you could hear phones in other rooms loudly ringing, and every single person in the hallway walking/talking at normal levels. At one point at 6:30am I actually got up startled our room door had opened on its own. Nope… just didn’t offer any sound barrier whatsoever. I mentioned this to the staff and they said “we’ll make a note of it,” but short of gutting the hotel and doing major construction to properly insulate the walls with a normal amount of soundproofing I can’t imagine how they could fix the issue. And look, I am a seasoned traveler who expects neither perfection nor total comfort, but this is simply ridiculous. If I had paid $70/night maybe I’d have expected it. I highly discourage you from choosing this place unless you bring some serious earplugs.

Hotel canceled reservation

They canceled my reservation without notifying me! I booked on Hotels.com and chose the "Pay at Property" option. The hotel charged my card before I arrived, said it didn't work, and I received an email (at 2am) about 11 hours before check-in saying I had 24 hours to provide another form of payment. I sent a message on the Hotels App and they did not reply. When I arrived at the hotel for check-in, they said my reservation was canceled, and my room was booked. Even though they said I had 24 hours to provide another method of payment. They canceled my reservation before 24 hours, and did not ever send a message it was canceled. On the app, it said I still had a reservation. The desk clerk said the manager was out of the country. I had to book another room at a higher price because there were almost no rooms left in town. The Hotels.com customer service has reached out to the hotel and they refuse to honor my original price.

Not to be trusted

Absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Booked my room months ago for a basketball tournament. Spoke to a representative on the phone two days before check in to confirm my room only to arrive on day of check in to be told my room was canceled. They claimed it was because “my card did not go through” but the card on file was never charged and I had spoken with a representative two days prior and was assured my room was safe. They offered to put us in a much smaller room for over twice the price I had originally booked for while also charging us for the roll away beds we would need. Upon touring the room it was dirty and cramped and would absolutely not fit all of us. I will never book here again and will tell everyone I know how unprofessional and unacceptable this experience was. I am also contacting the better business bureau because this happened to at least five other families. All of use who booked rooms at a cheaper rate were canceled so they could fill the hotel with new reservations at twice the rate.

Thankful for the ocean

The location of this hotel is unparalleled. The ocean is literally right outside your window, the lighthouse is right next door. And that’s good, because it helps to temper how uncomfortable the bed is, how tiny the shower is, and how our key almost never worked.

Horror lodge do not stay!

Staff was incompetent and rude, hotel was disgustingly dirty rodent traps, mold, pool was filthy did not provide deposit back after not even staying due to dirty conditions bed was filthy. Pool and spa was very dirty as well.

Warning! Awful Place!

The heat in the room didn't work and it was really cold. We complained to the front desk and they finally sent someone after 3 compaints. We ended up buying a space heater because we were so cold. They said the heater couldnt be fixed and they refused to give us another comparable room. The whole place smells old and moldy. The hallways were loud and smelled like dog pee. There was dog hair everywhere. The breakfast at the restaurant was poorly made, and it took over an hr for just scrambled eggs and bacon. The TV doesn't even have cable, and good luck if you want to try any streaming services, the TV just kept buffering. Never stay here!

The best thing about this place is the location. Beautiful seaside spot. The hotel itself was probably great in 1978, but pretty rough today. My room was not clean. The staff seems disinterested. If you are hungry, eat elsewhere.

Excellent, with some room for improvement

The view and the location are beautiful! The room was very nice and mostly comfortable. The pillows definitely need to be replaced and are lacking in stuffing. We loved the idea of there being a restaurant on-site, but we felt the food could definitely be better and breakfast included with the price. We appreciated that there is a coffee machine in the room, but it didn’t seem very sanitary to have that and the drinking cups in the bathroom. But overall, it was a great stay and we'll definitely go again.

It could be better

It was ok! Being placed on 3rd floor with an animal is tough. The fire alarms went off at 7am with no explanation. The pool and hot tub were dirty. The screen for our window was gone so we were unable to open it to hear the ocean.

Wonderful weekend

Perfect location for exploring the Redwoods. View from our room was stunning. Room was big, comfortable and clean. Food venues in the area was limited but the Good Harvest Cafe was really good. Restaurant in hotel was OK. TV was difficult for us but only cuz we never used Roku. Finally figured it out 2nd day. Definitely going back!!
