Sept stay. Balcony needs cleaning and painting.

This was the third year we've came to Destin and stay at Destin Harbor Inn. Hotel is seeing so wear a s tear. The hallway is missing carpet, the balcony facing the ocean need some cleaning and painting. Overall, hotel was acceptable to stay and staff were friendly. Love the service to be dropped off at local restaurants vs driving. Breakfast had a good selection.

Great location

Great location and staff. They actually under charged me and I made sure I pointed it out and they got their money. A gap under my door that I could put my foot underneath it. The towels had other peoples hair still in them, no place to put any clothes in because there isn’t the very first drawer. Not even in bathroom. BUT with all that being said, it is the 3rd or 4th time staying here. Yes it is a little “so-so” with some things but the location makes up for it. On the bay with a beautiful view. You can walk everywhere. Parked my car and never got in it till we left. Never ever feel unsafe here and walking everywhere. They can’t control kids/grown ups slamming doors, running or talking loud at 1-3 am in hallways, but they will make sure you are taking care of doe what they can do.

Better informed

Overall the room was clean, but needs to be updated. We stayed for a week and there is no storage to unpack suitcase. Also, very seldom was someone at the front desk, one evening our television would not work and I called the front desk for over an hour and no answer. Also, misinformed, we were told upon check in that there would be a live band in the lobby on Friday, guess what no live band. We also asked for a frozen pinacolada the first day and we were told they were cleaning the machine, 6 days later still cleaning machines.

Reservations not as planned

I reserved a room with Harbor view. The 1st night our room was overlooking parking lot. After advising receptionist what I reserved. They had no rooms available for us and was able to accommodate our 2nd night stay in a room w/harbor view. However, We had to pack up our room and relocate.

Beware of fake online pictures!

The room was horrible!! Did not match the picture online the room had paint chipping by the chunks! Shower overflowed into the room rust everywhere door to the other room was coming apart wood splinters everywhere the good thing was the view from the balcony they over charged for a room the should be charged 80 a night instead of 300 a night it was not worth it only stayed a night because everything was booked up but thank god we found something else way much nicer than this place!

Go elsewhere

Look elsewhere, There are much better places to stay for much cheaper. Cons : There is absolutely no way to justify the $250 deposit they charge for the stay. There are stains and marks everywhere in the room. The patio doors didn't even open, the breakfast was bagels and cereal basically and only offered from 7-9 am which is crazy with most are 9-11. Beach? Oh you mean the spots of sand laid around the property? Ok. If you want to go to Henderson beach, which is a 10 minute drive will take you an hour with traffic, even on weekdays. The only pro is if you are there on a Monday or or Thursday, you can see fireworks from the patio that are from the Boardwalk in June-July. In closing, it's way too expensive and outdated to justify the stay when there are actually resorts for cheaper on the actual beach.

WiFi bad. Room smelled and unclean. Pictures advertised were not the pictures of the actual hotel. I had to depart early due to a family emergency and instead of refunding my fee they recharged me. Incidental rate was 250 and takes a long time to be refunded.
