All of the furniture in the lobby and the breakfast area was so incredibly old and beat up. It was terrible. I mean, there’s not even a toilet paper holder in the bathroom no blow dryer basically a bed and TV.

We enjoyed the convenience of Hotel Ylem’s location to dining and groceries. The room is a good size, but it would be nicer to also have an easy chair for seating. The TV required our fiddling to get it to work everyday even after maintenance looked into it. We enjoyed the available breakfast options.

We traveled to Houston for PlantCon and stayed in Hotel Ylem for 4 days! The breakfast was great, the service staff, friendly and helpful, and the room clean and comfortable. We tried one of their dinner recommendations and it was amazing plus the location was perfect. Close to many things, including the NRG stadium where the convention took place, and plenty of food and grocery options. I’ll definitely come back for next years convention! :)

I was leary to book this property based on reviews but decided to give it a go. We were in town for two nights for a conference at the NRG Center just a few books away. The property was good and the staff was excellent resolving an issue of my own with room keys. The room wasnt anything over the top but exactly how it was pictured and all that we needed. It was a little humidy and swampy at first, to be expected though our stay was in June. Nothing the A/C unit didnt fix. We did end up checking out early due to a wild amount of noise throughout the night. The mixture of noise and humidy was more than we wanted to endure a second night. This decision was completely personal. The facility were great even though the remnants of a remodel were present it didnt effect our stay. Again the staff was great, upon checking out early the agent walked me through the process to be refunded for our second since we booked through a third party and was nothing but helpful and respectful.

The room and bathroom were very big and roomy. There was a large couch in addition to our beds. The employees came quickly to help us fix the television. Breakfast was decent though there could’ve been more variety. They provided cereal, a small selection of bread and bagel, omelette, sausage patties, yogurt, juice and coffee.

This is bare bones hotel. The closet is a rack out in open area and had one hanger that looked like the metal hanger from dry cleaner. Had a king sized bed with pillows so small they looked like throw pillows for on a sofa. The TV did not work. We had to go to front desk to request shampoo and a hair dryer. There was very little breakfast food left when I got to breakfast room at 8 am. Some cold cereal and a few bagels and English muffins. No evidence of any fruit, yogurt, eggs or anything hot.
