Good stay, great staff.Read the terms: not for all

I really enjoyed my stay, and I thought it was great. But first, a caveat: this hotel tells you clearly what they offer, and keep their world; you need to make sure you know what it is, since it will not be for everyone, especially not the choices I made. I chose to get the smaller bedrooms with no in-room bathroom, with a bathroom in the hall. They told me what I needed to know in advance: there were stairs, no elevator, I will be sharing hallway bathrooms. The room was nice, very clean, and comfortable. The staff at the hotel were all not just courteous but clearly nice, helpful and kind - they did many kindnesses like telling you what you needed to know and taking your keys when they saw you on the way out without having to go to the front desk. The bathrooms were in the hall, but there were several, they were clean, locked when you were there, and comfortable. The hotel offers free breakfast which is good - bagels, variety of pastries, oatmeal, cereal, boiled eggs - and free wifi. It's easy to fine and near subway. All in all, it's a basic accommodation - at least the room I chose -but clean, comfortable, nice, and the staff is very courteous.

We were in Boston to attend a graduation at MIT with visits to family who live near Harvard Square. The MIT and Harvard graduations were on the same days, so most of the nearby large hotels were very pricey and very full. We found the Oasis on Google maps searching for hotels in the area, and it seemed very well situated, MIT just a walk or short ride over the Mass Ave bridge and Harvard Square just beyond. The location turned out to be ideal, and what was particularly nice is that it is located in the midst of the city, but by being one street away from busy Mass Ave, it is like you are in a quaint, residential area, with some nice nearby parks for sitting--and access to the businesses on Mass Ave by entering through their rear entryways! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast room and breakfast very fresh and ample. The stairs are steep and narrow, but we managed and being in our 80's, we got help from staff and family when needed. Rooms are small but the space is optimally and efficiently furnished.

Modest but very accommodating.

Very much as expected. Not luxurious, but everything was clean, quiet, comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was quite small, and the stairs were steep and narrow, but not unexpected for an older building. Very decent cold breakfast. LOVE how accommodating they were about storing luggage for us between check out time and when we were leaving Boston.
