Nice, Pleasant Getaway for the Long Weekend

Poets Cove is a peaceful and relaxing retreat with beautiful scenic views of the cove—perfect for unwinding over a long weekend. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re arriving late (especially after 8:30 PM like we did due to a ferry delay from Victoria), be aware that there’s nothing nearby and the on-site restaurant closes early. Plan ahead for food or snacks if you’re arriving in the evening. Other than that, it’s a charming and tranquil spot to enjoy nature and disconnect.

Overdue for investment and upkeep

The resort had nice staff who were friendly and helpful. But the condition of the room and facilities appeared they had no investment or upkeep in many years. What was once a luxury resort is in serious need of refurbishment. The couches were stained, mattresses well worn. It was odd the parking lot had a number of derelict motor homes on it which detracted from an otherwise high quality setting.

The property and surrounding area are beautiful. The view from the room was spectacular. Staff at the front desk and at the restaurant were welcoming and accommodating. The only suggestion I have for improvement is moving away from disposable, single-use plastic wrapped cups to reusable cups and mugs in the rooms.

The resort is absolutely stunning. We stayed in a King Lodge room and it was perfect. Just as pictured. The veiws were incredible. Really enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The dining room was excellent as well.

Nice place, pet friendly.

We stayed at Poets Cove for a little get away between Christmas and New years. It was the off season and we expected some things to be closed and less staff. Reception was very good at email communication, prompt replies to our questions. It was a nice place, short of staff, but everyone was friendly and professional. We had a lodge room with our 2 dogs. The room had a fridge, coffee maker and a kettle. It was clean, had everything we needed, nice balcony, I spent many hours there enjoying the view. The restaurant was great! We ate in the main dining area or the lounge sometimes for a “snack” and drinks. The nachos could feed 4 people! Very nice, next time we come to Pender we will eat there, even if we stay somewhere else. The best for us was how Pet friendly it was. Very reasonable pet fee and the dog walking area was perfect. A small grassy wooded area, but not entirely fenced. Loads of nice walks with dogs on South Pender. Greenburn lake was our favourite, you can walk there from the resort. We asked for a late check out and only got 30 min extra, they were busy maybe. The room cleaning ladies were very nice. No complaints about this place, we will come again.

Christmas Family Vacation

First time stay at Poets Cove, stayed in one of the Cottages with 3 kids under 5 for Christmas Easy to get to. Love the hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed and exceeded my expectations. The outdoor pool was heated and the kids loved swimming in it, there is also a hot tub next to the pool which was nice to warm up before walking back to Cottage. We brought our own food, so didn't eat at the restaurant. We will be back again.

Poets Cove is a go to resort for us. It’s like being away from daily life. Staff are great. It is a bit dated, but improved from the last time we were there. The only real negative…the king bed was two twin beds together. Beautiful location, beautiful grounds, amazing restaurant. We’ll be back for our fifth time!

Perfect to relax and rewind

Great service, food and spa. The restaurant and cafe were tasty and fast service. Had a massage at the spa for a treat and it was a needed experience. Can’t wait to come again!
