The studio was great, nice and spacious very clean very comfortable.
Just one thing they should correct in regard to the studio... The bedroom window should have a shade exactly the same as the living room window so the sunlight doesn't shine in so STRONG inthe morning. That was extremely annoying.

The quality of the materials and finisches is very bad. The hotel is not new, but in bad conditions.
The floor was just rising.
The price is too high for the quality.

The hotel was great for our family of 4 and two other families that we were traveling with.
It was a 15-20 min walk one way to Old San Juan and about the same distance the other way to the beach.
The rooftop was a great place to wind down after a day out. And we loved that our unit had a kitchenette and large outdoor patio.
The hotel also accommodated with a 2nd pull out couch for our two kids.

The hotel room was spacious, which gave a nice sense of openness upon arrival. However, it was immediately clear that the hotel is older and in need of maintenance. Pieces of the ceiling were visibly falling, and the floors looked like they hadn’t been swept or mopped in some time. The bathroom didn’t have any toilet paper, and I had to call the front desk just to get some.
While the hotel did serve its basic purpose, it’s not a place I would choose to stay at again. I also requested room service during their posted hours, but when I returned, the room hadn’t been touched. Overall, it feels like the hotel is operating on very thin margins, and the quality and upkeep definitely reflect that.

The property was clean and the staff was very helpful. We especially loved the service we received from Joseph. He was very knowledgeable and helpful! We rented a car, but we didn’t end up using it to drive much due to limited parking. We were able to walk through old San Juan from the location.

Utter disappointment in all ways. Unsafe location, shared room (2BR converted into hotel room), bathroom water seeping into bedroom, bathroom door had a key from inside as it wouldnt lock. $330 per night!!!! i wouldnt stay for free!!
To solve the leakage issue, the management sent towels to place on the floor.

The hotel was ok and servicable, but the air conditioner never turned off the whole time during stay. Which was nice while sleeping but freezing at all other times.

Hotel Puerto Valdes is so intimate and beautiful!!! I was in awe of the entire building!! The smell and cleanliness was up to my standard which is normally set pretty high. I enjoyed the professionalism of the building and will definitely return.

My 2 night stay before my cruise was great. The suite or studio style apartment was larger than expected with plenty of space. The hotel restaurant was excellent. Joseph is the best!! He made sure I had everything I needed, even gave me a ride to Walgreens on the shuttle to pick up a few items I forgot. He also recommended local places for food and drinks. Give that man a raise!

For what I paid for the two nights I stayed, I expected a lot more. My TA had requested a birthday note to be left in my room which was not there when I arrived. There were moldy leftovers (disgusting soup) in the warm mini fridge from previous guests and hairs all over the bathroom shower and sink when I arrived as if the room hadn’t been well cleaned. There was no hand soap at all (I used the body wash to wash my hands) and no hair dryer in the room. While the room was very spacious and the kitchen area was appointed well, it just felt that many standard amenities were missing. The floor did not feel clean and I found hair and dust clumps around the doors. I requested a late checkout the evening before and the lady at the front desk said she was putting it in the system as we spoke but then someone came INTO my room the next morning despite the “do not disturb sign” on the door before my late checkout time and and claimed there was no note in the system. The rooftop hot tub was dirty and despite the location (close to the cruise port with a complimentary shuttle which was nice) I don’t think I would stay here again or recommend this hotel. Beware staying on the weekend because the surrounding noise of night clubbing is very loud.

Overall the property isn’t a bad place to stay my only complaint is, I did not get to stay in the room I paid to stay in and although they accommodated me with another room it was not what I wanted and basically had to settle for, and I also did not like that I was notified the day I walked into the hotel, that the room I paid for would not be available to me, other than that, it’s a nice stay for what it is and the staff do what they can for you. There was also a restaurant in the building, although I did not try the food, seemed like it would be ok, very small eating area but nice tho for what it is. Rooftop was ok for what it is also. Very conveniently located tho I will add, if you’re looking to tour San Juan.

It was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly.
I would have liked a morning coffee or 2 and that would be my only complaint.

Boutique hotel vibes with huge rooms. Staff went above and beyond. We’d stay here again for convenience.
