We had a wonderful 3-night stay at LUX at the end of May — the place is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff made our experience truly special. A big shoutout to Kennedy at the front desk — his hospitality was out of this world! So pleasant and polite, he took the time to show us around and made us feel at home right away. Huge thanks to Abdul at the cashier desk for the amazing upgrade to the Executive Beach Front Room #9 — what a treat! And Ali at Café LUX, thank you for your help — such a well-mannered young man. We will definitely be coming back again!

L’hôtel est juste magnifique. Le service est irréprochable. Les chambres et la literie sont très confortables et c’est un réel plaisir . Le restaurant propose un buffet de très bonne qualité avec un thème différent tous les soirs . Le personnel est aux petits soins .

Hotel is nice. You do get hassled on the beach. The different food and drinks packages are confusing so do your maths on regular intake. Hotel is expensive but so are all hotels in Zanzibar.

Fantastisk service og fint og rolig hotell. Maten var også noe av det bedre vi fikk i løpet avtjene vår rundt Zanzibar. Alle som jobber der er nydelige mennesker og de tilbyr en god del gratis aktiviteter. Så her fikk vi prøvd oss på Swahili kurs. Asante sana LUX*

hotels com offers 2 different room alternatives. I bought a superior room but it was said that the room had a sea view and a garden view. In the images, the superior room type had a sea view. I wrote to correct the misleading advertisement. The informal virtual representative replied as if making fun of me. Even though I said that I was a gold member and asked for help, he did not solve the problem. I will not prefer hotels com.

Vi bodde 6 netter her. De ansatte får hver enkelt til å føle seg svært ønsket - alle er gode i engelsk, blide, imøtekommende og har et høyt service-nåvå. Hotellet har en egen privat del av stranden med deilige, komfortable solsenger og parasoll med store badehåndklær du kan bytte når som helst. Lekkert basseng med tilhørende bar og spa-avdeling. Her finner du også et lite, men godt nok treningsrom. Rommene er delikate de gjøres rent 1-2 ganger daglig. Vi hadde ikke all-inclusive, men bestilte oss Ál la carte fra de koselige restaurantene på området. Da vi skulle videre fra Lux Marijani og inn til Stone Town, ønsket vi å dra innom en krydderplantasje - hotellet ordnet med skyss slik at vi det ordnet.

poor menù a la carte with too high prices and especially the cost of the wines for the quality they suggest. In two weeks no a single dish changed.Room service is too slow (one hour is the average waiting) and the food arrive completely cold, I tried this service twice. The housekeeper once opened the room door not knocking at 8.30 am and they knock the door at 9.30 pm to sanitize.

Wunderschöne Anlage direkt am Strand mit tollem Pool, sehr freundlichem Personal und allem was man zum Entspannen braucht. Moderne Zimmer mit großem Bad. Am Abend gibt es ein ansprechendes und wechselndes Buffet und dazu immer wieder live music oder anderes Entertainment. Dazu eine softe Animation und mehreren Möglichkeiten Spaß zu haben (Volleyball, Aqua Gymnastic, reiten am Strand, Boccia…) Das Gym ist leider ein sehr kleiner Raum mit einem Laufband und schreit nach einem Upgrade, aber wer sportlich ist wird sich auch ohne Gewichte und in der Natur fit halten können. Besonders schön ist es wenn Ebbe herrscht und man mehrere hundert Meter weit ins offene Meer gehen kann. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden stets freundlich und zuvorkommend behandelt. Auch ab Abreisetag wurde uns ohne Probleme ein Late Check out ermöglicht. Immer wieder gerne!

The hotel itself is breathtaking, but what truly sets it apart is the staff—easily the friendliest I’ve ever encountered in my life. A heartfelt thank you to Pina, who welcomed us with such warmth and grace. Her attention to detail and personal touches made our stay feel incredibly special. Pina’s genuine care and energy elevated our entire experience, and it’s safe to say she’s the heart of the hospitality at Lux*. Another standout was Fadna at the Lux* Café. Her Zanzibar Iced Coffee is a must-try—absolutely divine and the perfect reflection of the local flavors. Fadna’s passion for her craft shines through in every sip and interaction, making each visit to the café a delightful experience. Lux* Hotel Zanzibar provided not just a place to stay but a collection of unforgettable memories. The incredible staff, especially Pina and Fadna, turned our vacation into something truly magical. This was, without a doubt, the most memorable hotel visit of my life, and I can’t recommend Lux* Zanzibar enough. If you’re lucky enough to stay here, be sure to seek out Pina and Fadna—they will make your visit unforgettable!

It is a beautiful hotel!!! So nice place !!! Unfortunately there is not air acondition is any place , at room air condition did not work properly and they did I not do anything about it … our room says for 3 people but unfortunately space did not permit it so we had to take another room . For price it is not good but I have to say it is a very beatific place . Another annoying thing it is that you can not go to water at the beach, as the Masai do not allow you without charge you 150 usd to go with your to water …. It is imposible to go out of hotel boundary … they put in front animals to say that it is unsafe to walk in there ..::

Had a perfect 7 day stay here!! Lovely staff, wonder full people. All I can say I wish the food was better, I would say it’s - average of what you can expect from a hotel with this standards. Anyways, when they had a theme night with charcoal bbq things where different and way better.
