I had booked a ADA room specifically for a roll in shower. We have a family member wheelchair bound. Upon checking in, I wasn't given an ADA room, but a normal room with stairs to enter said room. it was most troublesome navigating a wheelchair backwards up the stairs. upon entering the room, no part of it was wheelchair accessible. so I went to the front desk where I was asked what the "contention" was with my room. I explained I had a wheelchair bound family member yet was then told they had no ADA rooms available. they offered to change rooms for us with a chair for the bath / shower. upon getting to the new room? yup. stairs. so i had to maneuver the wheelchair on a dirt path with tree roots everywhere around the back of the building to even get into our room. the room itself? not even close to being wheelchair accessible. no handrails on either toilet, shower with steps, etc. bath chair was not helpful as the tub wasn't able to accommodate our family member in the wheel chair. The sofa pull out bed was broken, the knobs on the jacuzzi broken, rusted and pieces of rust laying out. I am most unhappy with our visit and this is somewhere we always stay when in Williamsburg. This is the first time our stay and the ability to accommodate was less then par.
