Basic poor hotel

Mattress springs stuck in you wafer thin pillows painted over sockets. Bathroom horrible. Restaurant closed down 4 years ago yet they have a bridal room? Looks like it was once a nice place. Outside dirty paint p peeling off weeds overtaken car park. Would not stay again. Staff were friendly though.

As the hotel uses old and bad conditions facilities they’ll ask you to give your card details to reception saying: for in case you brook something😂 ): mates nothing is new its all broken before you even inter

A run down and unkempt hotel. No hot water. It needs a complete overhaul. With a lot of cash and effort could made into something better. It’s in a good location but grounds scruffy.

Dirty hotel!

Hotel looked grotty overall. My room was very unclean, large webs on the windows, marks on the carpet and walls, toilet seat wasn’t cleaned and hairs on it, shower looked dirty. Carpets were threadbare and the corridors smelled musty

👎 awful. Drunken noise/fighting through night, wafer thin walls so listened to next doors sex. Shower hot and cold on its own doing, tap spud 360 degrees so couldn’t use, heater didn’t work, carpets wafer thin, 1 pillow, tv didn’t work constantly, reception couldn’t email me receipts which is unheard of, grounds look like it’s an apocalypse. Also had the cheek and charged my card £25 to wash hand towel, without notifying me either, naughty naughty. better sleeping at train station.

Council bedsit

This hotel is terrible. Had walls like paper people shouting outside our room door. The lights were falling off the wall the old thermostat case was hanging off with live wires. The bar is poorly stocked out of 8 pumps only 2 were working. The hospitality was poor as the reception staff were also the bar staff. If we wanted food we were told to go to a pub right down the road.

2/10 Poor

It's cheap, very basic, and a night to remember

My deluxe room was quite the opposite however, for the price, what could I expect. There was one person on the front desk who had to deal with everything, there were no other staff. We were able to store our cycles in the kitchen which appeared no longer in use and he kindly, eventually, found a remote control that worked the TV. Unfortunately, at about 2am, the noise started, shouting and running about in the corridors, arguments, banging on doors, apart from not sleeping, this was quite frightening as the room doors were not that secure. This continued until about 6am. I asked for an explanation on check out and was told it was a crowd who had already been banned but I guess the sole member of staff was unable to do much on his own. I don't know whether it was drugs related or not but as soon as it had been quiet for a while, I was out of there hoping not to meet anyone in the corridors.

Worst hotel I stayed

It was not an enjoyable stay. Family room and the toilet door wouldn't shut properly, Bathroom had mould, windows had cobwebs on them.

Stay at your peril

An interesting place. Very dirty. Things in the room are broken. Bedding stained etc. very noisy as walls paper thin and windows are thinner
Robyn A Cowan, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

No frills vfm stay

I simply wanted a room for the night having attended a funeral earlier. Check in and out was simple and the twin room was spacious and comfortable if a little dated. The bathroom was ok and I enjoyed a morning shower with good water pressure. Although there is no food offering the nearby pub offered well priced meals including an all day breakfast. Not a place for a romantic getaway but as a no frills value for money stay it was absolutely fine.

4/10 Fair

Shower was mouldy, kettle was yellow inside no coffee in the room only 1 pillow bed linen had black marks on it. Carpets were stained and dirty. Someone had attempted a re-paint but to a less than poor effort even the fire extinguisher safety notice was painted over. Avoid staying here if possible.
Russell, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

There was no hot water when I arrived. They were working on it, but that was no consolation when I had to go out in 30 mins. The hotel was basic & very tired looking but to be fair, that was reflected in the price.

2/10 Poor

Disgusting

I asked to move rooms as the toilet kept running and hadn’t been cleaned Moved to a different room that had thread bare carpet and mould all around the bathroom was that bad I just couldn’t stay for the 2 nights I had booked
Emily, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

This hotel would have once been an amazing place. It is now rundown, neglected, grubby and in desperate need of a refurb, top to bottom. It was obvious some painting has been completed but there is extensive mould in the bathroom. The bed base was broken, the windows are filthy, there were cheesybugs crawling around the carpet and there was a musky smell in the room. This hotel, staff and guests deserves better, a lot better.
