Biggest issues were the heating unit is LOUD when it's on. We were also in a room with a high window that let in light from a hallway with no way to block the light. The courtyard fountain could be heard outside our door. It was really hard to sleep with the noise and light.

We booked Lamothe House for a special weekend in New Orleans as a Christmas gift for our daughter to see Phantom of the Opera because it was advertised as a charming historic boutique hotel. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. When we checked in, our room was already about 75 degrees. We set the thermostat to 62 and left for the day assuming the AC would cool the room. When we returned that evening it was still around 75 degrees and clearly had never worked. A staff member came up and confirmed the AC was not functioning but showed little urgency. We were told someone would check downstairs, but no one followed up. Nearly an hour later, close to midnight, we went back to the desk ourselves. No alternative room or even a fan was offered. The next day we were moved to another room after guests checked out. My husband had to move all of our belongings himself across the courtyard and up another staircase while staff watched. Unfortunately the AC in the second room also failed that evening. Between the heat and outside noise we barely slept. We were so exhausted that we left early Sunday morning and drove five hours straight home instead of enjoying more of New Orleans. The building itself is pretty, but the lack of functioning air conditioning and the complete lack of concern from staff overshadowed the entire experience.

We loved the area super close to all the great jazz music on Frenchmen Street, that’s the main reason I stayed there. Walkable to other areas too, like Royal Street and Bourbon, but also far enough from all the crazy stuff on Bourbon. Lots of shopping and places to eat close by too.

Old, but charming site with restored rooms. Great staff and convenient and walkable. Centrally located to Bourbon and Frenchman Streets. Parking is a quick walk once you find it (it’s tricky).

In the end it was all about the staff!!! Initially thought property was a little sketchy but the staff put me at ease and made me feel safe and welcomed. Great location just a walk to all locations with a good price tag!
