This was our first stay on an Excellence property. Everything about the resort is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. Our room was meticulously cleaned every day as well as towels replaced and bed turn down every evening. The pool area and beach were clean and lovely with fresh towels conveniently located and abundant. Restaurant and food options were excellent as well. One thing that stands out above and beyond expectations is the staff and service. Simply outstanding. Looking forward to our next Excellence experience in 2026!

Great food and drinks, great service, and very clean. The shows at night were also really good, almost Vegas quality. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Clean rooms, friendly & attentive staff, amazing pools. There are 15+ dining options, small portions but all delicious. The water sports (we did scuba diving) offered on site are safe and memorable. Only downside was the beach view, rather lackluster. Everybody we spoke to that had been to several Cancun resorts said the Excellence is easily the best, and they’re right. Highly recommended for honeymoon, anniversaries, or trips with friends.

The service was exceptional. We upgraded to Club level upon arrival (for a hefty fee, of course). We felt it was worth the cost for the upgrades: access to Club level heated pools, additional restaurant and bars that offer elevated food and cocktail options. The Club area on the beach had plenty of shaded cabanas.
This is a quiet resort, which is perfect if you just want to relax. For those seeking a lot of activity and entertainment, it may not be a perfect fit.

Beach was gorgeous, pools nice-hot tubs could be warmer. Food was mostly good, some restaurants I would have skipped and service would have been better if a little faster.

URGENT: High-Value Theft at Excellence Riviera Cancun (Nov 6-10, 2025) - Case Ignored by Resort Management
We are reporting a serious incident of theft that occurred during our stay at Excellence Riviera Cancun (Expedia Reservation # 73280325100444) from November 6th to 10th, 2025.
On November 10th, high-value personal property was stolen from our checked luggage after it was collected by the resort staff from our room for transfer to the lobby. The theft was discovered immediately upon our arrival in Chicago.
Stolen Items: YSL handbag, wristwatch, jewelry, and a Gucci belt.
Lack of Resolution: We have attempted to resolve this directly with the resort for over a month. Despite sending multiple detailed emails (as instructed by their phone staff), the resort management has maintained complete silence and ignored all our attempts to initiate an investigation or resolution.
This theft occurred while our belongings were under the direct care of the resort’s staff. We require Expedia’s urgent intervention to compel Excellence Riviera Cancun management to address this incident and the subsequent lack of communication. We expect a prompt resolution and compensation for the substantial loss incurred while on their property.
