No frills place for a decent stay

Very simple, no-frills place to stay. The rooms are in dire need of an upgrade. They are really big and clean enough. I think even just replacing the carpet and maybe a new color on the walls would go a long way in making this place feel fresher. I stayed here back in 2017 and the rooms are exactly as I remember them. It's conveniently right on the highway, but not loud.

Clean, Clean, Clean

We stayed here due the location and the price as it was reasonable. This motel was likely the cleanest motel I have ever stayed in. No stains, orders, etc. The property isn't new by any stretch of the imagination but it has been well taken care of. They like the rooms serviced daily, I believe this shows they take pride in what they have and offer.

Very old school hotel with actual key to the room. The decor is dated. The bed was firm, pillow was flat. Slept like a baby. Would stay here again for sure.

The building is old, the couch was one I wouldn't sit on, and the pillows were like pancakes. We were there for 2 nights because it was close to our destination. I left a tip for the maid on night 1. When we went to bed on night 2, we found the blanket and bedspread had been pulled up to look like the bed was "made," but the sheets were all in a jumble underneath! TV worked good, and the wifi was fine.

Budget Friendly Motel, Large Rooms

Great budget friendly motel for a quick trip to Joshua Tree. Had all the amenities you need in the room to save some money on food as well. Fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker. Room was large but you do hear noise from the road. We will be back.

Affordable comfort and convenience in Joshua Tree

Another great stay at the High Desert Motel. We brought our own pillows this time, but I think the pillows had been replaced since our last visit. Joshua Tree National Park was beautiful, we had a lovely breakfast at Food for Thought Cafe on the grounds of the JT Retreat Center, visited the Noah Purifoy Foundation again, and stopped into a gallery opening at the Beatnik Cafe.

The hotel Needs some renovations.

The hotel need some updates, hard to find people on front desk at nite and morning, went there 8am and no one there. The room feels not very clean, no extra blanket and the only ones there are thin and smelly. It is also hard to find wall charges for my phone.
